Great example of a circular carbon reduction process. As we continue to see the carbon reduction market lose credibility, this is an important, tangible, targeted solution to reduce greenhouse gases and their immediate consequences. 1. Reduce fuels for wildfires. California's 2020 wildfires erased all greenhouse gas reduction measures in the prior 13 years. 2. Convert waste wood into hydrogen gas and biochar 3. Hydrogen gas produces electricity or can be further processed into H2 fuel. 4. Biochar goes back into the earth as part of a high-value solution - roads for rural, forested areas... #wildfires #biomassenergy #carboncapture
🌿✨ Breaking News: Phoenix Energy & Carbon Crusher Forge Partnership for Carbon-Negative Road Construction ✨🌿 We are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking collaboration between Phoenix Energy and Carbon Crusher, paving the way for a carbon-negative road at the Blue Mountain Company Electric (BMEC) site! 🛣️💚 In a monumental step towards a circular economy, Phoenix Energy will leverage its own biochar product as a carbon-negative binding agent within Carbon Crusher’s innovative road technology. This transformative project will utilize tens of tons of biochar, derived from repurposed forest material, creating a road with extended durability and reduced maintenance costs. What's more? The road's net-negative emissions of approximately 2-4 kg CO2 equivalent per sq. ft. will enable the sequestration of 100 tonnes of CO2 – a significant stride towards our shared commitment to a carbon-neutral future. 🌳♻️ This collaboration follows a year-long testing phase, marking the inception of a strategic partnership where Phoenix Energy becomes a primary biochar supplier for Carbon Crusher's West Coast operations. This alliance embodies our shared values of sustainability, emphasizing the reuse, recycle, and recreate principles at the core of our business operations. 🌍💡 The completion of this pioneering road construction at BMEC is anticipated in early 2024, signifying the commencement of a long-term commitment to sustainable road rehabilitation and construction practices. Stay tuned as we embark on this transformative journey together! 🚀 #Sustainability #CarbonNegative #CircularEconomy #PartnershipAnnouncement #ClimateAction #Innovation #Biochar

More than 10 million Nm³/h of methane is lost in landfills worldwide ! There are about 20,000 landfills in the world, which could produce 1,100 TWh of biomethane each year. The Waga4World project could help seize the untapped value by developing an innovative technology that can recover landfill gas to be transformed into grid-compliant biomethane. https://lnkd.in/d5vX_d_G

#Polymers are playing an increasingly important role in #construction solutions. Their durability and versatility make them a favourable choice for all kinds of applications in buildings. A few days ago we explained here the concept of renewable polymers as carbon storages, with construction being one of the feasible sectors for that idea. Today, we are happy to announce an actual use case: together with LyondellBasell, Biofibre GmbH and Naftex GmbH, we are bringing bio-based polymers to the construction sector. Read more about the cooperation and how bio-based polymers in construction elements can help combat #climate change: https://bit.ly/3KYNrSZ

Stratkraft recently created their Heimdal waste-to-energy plant and the pre-FEED study was awarded to Aker Carbon Capture. Stratkaft’s new plant has been expertly designed to annually capture 220.000 tonnes of carbon capture and now the project is ready to take the next step. At the moment, lots of waste is treated by being put through a modern incineration plant, as this method has been shown to be the most effective and climate-efficient way to process final treatment. This method is especially useful when the waste has no other utility value, yet there are also issues such as carbon emissions, that make this method problematic. Solving these emission issues, is where Stratkaft’s new plant found an opening in the market, as the way the plant works is efficient and extremely effective. The article below depicts and excellent development for both the waste disposal industry and the carbon capture industry. Through finding a way to reduce the amount of material that is put through incineration, the new waste-to-energy plant will be a brilliant step forwards for all parties involved in this project and for the environment.
