We're helping to regenerate Silvertown into a sustainable community for London's Royal Docks. Working with Lendlease we're developing a pioneering low-carbon energy network. The site will be the UK’s first development using E.ON’s pioneering ectogrid™ system. The ectogrid™ system is based around the concept of sharing energy between buildings - capturing and transporting energy from where it is produced to where it is needed - which provides up to 88% lower emissions than gas boiler alternatives. The low-carbon network will serve almost 6,500 homes as well as leisure, cultural and community facilities, and workspaces. E.ON is the playmaker in making energy more affordable and sustainable. Developments like Silvertown are a critical element of growing the UK economy combined with the ambition to deliver huge societal benefits too. Silvertown is a great project to be involved with; Pipex with its manufacturing partner POLIURS have provided the preinsulated "purple caps" pipework for both the on and offsite works.

3moThis is fabulous and really shows how we are playmakers and how we are making new energy work in a collaborative way. 👍😊 If I go back to being a young boy and having conversations with my grand parents (both Meanwell and Crompton) they would say well done Antony but isn’t that obvious and isn’t that what we should be doing in these hard time (this was back in the 1970s). Life has clearly moved on and if we are to make the most of what we have and protect our plant we need to think differently and we need to make the most of our natural resource. Silvertown is a great example of what we can do when we work together. I am super proud of so many people that made this happen but I would be so disappointed if we didn’t make this happen again - so what can you do to Ensure we make use of waste heat sources near you?
