The Generative AI Startup Association (GAISA) has been launched in South Korea to create an ecosystem for domestic companies and explore collaboration opportunities in the emerging sector. The association, which is business-led rather than government-led, currently has 20 domestic AI startups as members. GAISA plans to collect issues faced by businesses and communicate with the public, as well as holding a technology conference and publishing reports about the generative AI industry. Lemonize goes Web Summit 🚀 From November 11-14, the epic technology conference Web Summit took place in Lisbon, and Lemonize was there! The main topics this year were AI, start-ups and sustainability/energy. Four days of exciting presentations and discussions awaited Vivian and Ana. They were able to find out first-hand what's new in the technology sector and how it is developing. In terms of the main topics, they were able to see how AI is used in other companies and how fast and useful it can be. They also took part in interesting discussions about the problems and benefits of AI. Ana and Vivian were able to get an idea of how many new companies are founded every day and what it takes to be successful and become a start-up unicorn. 🦄 In terms of sustainability, both were able to understand that this is an important topic for the younger generations as they grow up with a lot of information on this topic and this can be an important factor in whether or not to work in a company. #lemonize #ulm #digitalagency #websummit #lisbon #techconference #ai #startup #sustainability

Of course Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) is leading the most recent funding round, with Lightspeed Venture Partners investing once again in the AI company. That’s not all, as a long list of investors is also participating the round, such as Salesforce, BNP Paribas, CMA CGM, General Catalyst, Elad Gil and Conviction. A French unicorn 🦄 Mistral AI had already raised 105 million in June, and among European AI companies, only the German Aleph Alpha has so many funds, after having raised almost 500 million euros at the beginning of November. What AI? “Since the creation of Mistral AI in May, we have been pursuing a clear trajectory: that of creating a European champion with a global vocation in generative artificial intelligence, based on an open, responsible and decentralised approach to technology Speaking at the Slush, co-founder and CEO Arthur Mensch said this was exactly what separates the philosophy of the company from its competitors. “You can start with a very big model with hundreds of billions of parameters — maybe it’s going to solve your task. But you could actually have something which is a hundred times smaller,” Mensch stated. “And when you make a production application that targets a lot of users, you want to make choices that lower the latency, lower the costs, and leverage the actual populated data that you may have.
