We need your voice! *Developers will be showing up in DROVES* 🌳 Orange County Charter Review Commission Meeting: Speak Up For Rural Boundary Protections 🌳 📅 Date: Wednesday, May 8th 🕕 Time: 6:00 PM 📍 Location: Orange County Administrative Building, 201 South Rosalind Ave, Orlando, Florida 32801 🌾 Join us for a crucial discussion at the Orange County Charter Review Commission (CRC) meeting as we rally to safeguard our rural communities from unchecked urban sprawl. As concerned citizens, we’ve proposed a rural boundary initiative—similar to Seminole County’s model—to be included in our county charter. This boundary, meticulously reviewed and endorsed by the CRC subcommittee, aims to combat rampant development that threatens our rural landscapes. Now, it’s time for your voice to be heard. Your participation in this meeting is pivotal as we take the first step towards enshrining this protection in our county’s constitution. Let’s ensure that our ballots in November reflect our commitment to preserving Orange County’s unique character. 📢 Call to Action: Email Support: Send your comments to [email protected]. Your messages can make a difference in swaying the CRC’s decision. Request Talking Points: Reach out to our coalition, “Save Orange County,” at [email protected] for comprehensive talking points and email templates. In-Person Public Comment: Join us at 6:00 PM to share your thoughts directly with the CRC. Your presence is invaluable in shaping the future of our county. 🌊 We’re facing imminent threats to our environment, with proposed developments endangering vital waterways like the Econlockhatchee River and depleting our already strained aquifer. By implementing these protections, we can steer development towards existing infrastructure, preserve our natural resources, and sustainably manage growth. Let’s stand together to safeguard Orange County’s future. See you there! 🌳
