Brill represented us at the general assembly of the breathtaking CRM-geothermal European Commission #Horizon2020 project. 50 Scientists from #Italy #Iceland #Switzerland #Turkey #Germany #UK #Spain working hard for improving geothermal power and energy sourcing by mining #Lithium and #Helium from the deep Aquifer fluids. 🩹𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘞𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘛𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘛𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨! 🔬 Researchers at Dr. Brill Partner GmbH Institute for Hygiene and Microbiology have developed a 3D skin wound infection model to test antimicrobial agents’ effectiveness. 🔎𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 • 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: The model successfully found pathogens and triggered an inflammatory response, similar to what happens in real-life wounds. • 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝: Without treatment, infections spread and caused significant tissue damage, showing that the model accurately mimics how untreated wounds get worse. • 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬: When antimicrobial wound dressings were applied, the model showed: a) A reduction in bacteria levels b) A decrease in inflammation 👉🏽𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: The new antimicrobial treatments offer more precise and reliable results than current methods, potentially improving our understanding of pathogen interactions with human skin & advancing the treatment of wound infections. 👥Authors: Cornelia Wiegand, Sarah Fink, Diana C. With three auditors and six audit day for the system and our main competencies for testing but only five minor deviations we did a great job. Yesterday and today, we had Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (DAkkS) audit according to ISO/IEC 17025 on the beautiful North Sea island #Norderney regarding our #antifouling test methods. Without ANY deviation the the local team Lukas Kuhn Bernd Daehne and Soyla Bettina Kraus passed the audit supported by Dr. Florian H. H. Brill. This documents highest quality of our independent studies and we remain the only accredited test institute for antifouling testing 😀.
