By appreciating our similarities and differences, Celebrate Diversity month aims to get people to foster a deeper understanding of others, regardless of who they are, what they are, or how they live. It’s also an opportunity to increase diversity in the workplace and various academic fields. https://bit.ly/3zuk4lc

This holiday serves as a reminder of the positive impact that diversity has on society. 🌈 When DEI initiatives are prioritized, an organization sees: 1. A staff of industry leaders & innovators who are excited to contribute to the larger goals of the company 🧠 2. Increased team morale and lower staff turnover rates 🙌 3. A more competitive workforce 💪 4. More innovation and, by default, more profitability 🤩 Learn how to create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace with our Ultimate Guide to DEI Activities. Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) and Pride Month intersect in profound ways. By fostering a culture of DEIB, we can build societies where 2SLGBTQI individuals are fully embraced and respected. To effectively celebrate Pride Month and promote DEI, it's important now more than ever to create a culture of belonging, especially when attempting to bridge the gap between understanding DEI and creating real action. We had a client come to us with that exact question, and we created a campaign with a hub and ongoing challenge points where employees can make a promise and listen to peer storytelling – where they could feel inspired to create real action. They are inspired to participate with recognition and rewards. We are seeing great results where managers have the tools to converse with their teams. By creating a sense of belonging, you can build a workforce that is more committed and open to new and different ideas where employees can say, "This is the place for me."

“Diversity is being invited to the party; inclusion is being asked to dance.” — The Vernā Myers Company (TVMC) DEI initiatives are about more than just numbers; they are about creating a truly inclusive and welcoming environment where every individual feels valued, heard, and empowered to participate fully. Diversity represents the beautiful collection of identities and perspectives that make our communities vibrant. It's about ensuring that everyone is invited to the party and that our spaces reflect the world we live in. But it cannot stop there. Inclusion takes it a step further by actively engaging and embracing all voices. It's about creating a culture where everyone feels encouraged to bring their authentic selves to the dance floor, where their ideas and contributions are celebrated and embraced. As we strive for a more inclusive society, let's keep in mind that diversity without inclusion is simply not enough. It's our collective responsibility to foster an environment where everyone can dance, thrive, and shine together.

October the "Diversity and inclusion" month. In all honesty, it shows to be a difficult topic for me. Why? It is my lifetime experience, all the words/sentences that were given to me and the history of biases. Don't get me wrong: This is not dominated by people with bad intent, but because of historical unbalance. In other words, I am aware of the fact that I am part of the problem. However, I am trying my best to improve and reach out to connect. Two examples, I included in the picture below. NOTE: both messages where proactively send out and NOT as a response. I truly hope by opening myself up and show my incompetence on the matter it is safe for everyone to speak up and just be. I hope I create a space where everybody may make these mistakes (and I make many) and where we can have the dialogue on how to fix things, without judgement. Please be aware, I don't mean harassment or intimidation. And finally, diversity and inclusion is not something I care for, for one month only.
