Thinking of becoming an engineer in the aviation industry? 🛩 With over 3 decades of experience, Stoyan Vertovski, CAMO Senior Engineer at Magnetic Group, shares his take. ▫️ What’s your role? I am currently working as CAMO Senior Engineer at Magnetic Group. I have been involved in the aircraft maintenance process for more than 30 years, having passed almost all engineering positions in that business, from a Shift Engineer at Base Maintenance. This included roles such as a Leading Engineer in the Maintenance Control Center and a Leading Engineer in the Engineering Department. Additionally, I have also held administrative positions. I enjoy teaching, so I have also accumulated many hours as a training staff for students and aviation professionals. ▫️ When did you know that you wanted to pursue a career in aviation? Since the age of 10, I have had a passion for aviation, and I really wanted to become a pilot. When I finished high school, I applied to the Military Airforce University to become a pilot. Due to insufficient resistance of my vestibular apparatus, I was not allowed to become a pilot, so I became an aeronautical engineer. Over the years, I realized that this was my true calling. ▫️ How did your career evolve over the years? In my professional career, I have rarely stayed in my comfort zone regarding my accumulated knowledge and experience. I have always wanted to get involved in new projects and responsibilities. My actual experience as a CAMO engineer has been for about 20 years, but my professional development and pursuit of knowledge don't stop. Sometimes I still miss the "dirty fingers" practice of aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting, but I compensate for it with the care I give to my own cars. #aviation #engineering
