Come see me and my very smart friends talk about managing employment and labor compliance in GovCon and some of the issues taking shape in the current landscape!
Government contractors face unique labor and employment challenges and are subject to wage and hour and employment regulations. While these requirements are often overlooked, they also happen to be the same rules and regulations that, if violated, can lead to costly errors and government investigations. Join BOOST LLC's Albert Darlington, PhD Sarah Nash from PilieroMazza PLLC , and other panelists at the upcoming HUBZone Contractors National Council Conference as they discuss navigating the ever-changing world of labor law for government contractors and strategies for maintaining compliance to protect your business. Some of the topics they will discuss include: ☑️ What are the key labor and employment regulations government contractors should know? ☑️ How should federal contractors maintain compliance with labor and employment obligations? ☑️ What are the major compliance pitfalls government contractors face? ☑️ Who can be an “employee” for HUBZone purposes? ☑️ How should my business respond in the event of an audit or investigation? New York City employers: starting on July 1, you will be required to post and distribute a Workers' Bill of Rights to all current employees and new hires. The Workers' Bill of Rights will include "information about rights under relevant federal, state and local law that apply to employees, prospective employees or independent contractors in the City," as well as indicating "which rights apply to workers regardless of immigration status," and "information about the right to organize a union." Employers that violate this law are subject to a $500 penalty. Read our latest blog to learn more about how you can prepare to comply with the new Workers' Bill of Rights requirement.
