The Subsea Integration Alliance and BP have joined forces to improve subsea project performance!   The partnership between bp and the alliance of Subsea7 and OneSubsea, an SLB firm, will integrate the three companies' skill sets, proficiency, and experience across a worldwide portfolio of projects.   It's thrilling as well as significant to hold a close watch on the innovation process throughout the whole field duration, to support project delivery through new methods of collaboration and an innovative commercial model. Hosted by #IOGP-#JIP33 this week in the cosmopolitan city of Milan, Italy, which seamlessly blends the old and the new, the IOGP’s Engineering Leadership Council (ELC) and the JIP33 Steering Committee met f2f to find ways to harmonise and increase industry wide adoption of the IOGP-JIP33  Standardised Procurement Specifications. Standardising #equipment is critical to improving safety and reliability in operations, driving efficiency in the industry, and transforming supply chains through commoditisation. The IOGP-JIP33 #specifications are built on existing industry standards. The objective of the JIP33 Program is to agree on a harmonised and minimised set of specifications for the #procurement of equipment and packages for the oil and gas industry. Since its formation, the JIP33 programme has gained momentum, leading to increased adoption of JIP33 specifications in both ongoing and newly launched projects. MODEC Reports 657% Year-On-Year Profit Boost In First Quarter MODEC reported US$71 million profit in the first quarter of 2024, a 657.1% increase from the US$9.4 million profit from the prior year quarter. ExxonMobil hired MODEC last year to deliver the Errea Wittu FPSO for the Uaru project offshore Guyana. The order was MODEC’s highest earning engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract in 2023, beating out Equinor’s Raia and Bacalhau. It is expected to be a key contributor to MODEC’s 2024 earnings. Offshore News - Gulf of Mexico Congratulations TechnipFMC, on the recent significant subsea contract award by bp for its Argos Southwest Extension project in the Mad Dog field. TechnipFMC will install pipe and an umbilical, tying back three new wells to the Argos platform in the Gulf of Mexico. Under the contract, TechnipFMC will also manufacture and install pipeline end terminations.   For TechnipFMC, a “significant” contract is between $75 million and $250 million. This award was included in fourth quarter 2023 Subsea inbound orders. Stuart Holley from Subsea7 will at this year's UTC discuss their experiences and future opportunities of developing subsea projects within an alliance, utilising an integrated and collaborative digital platform, through the early field development phases. We think his headline introduces the topic excellent: Maximising offshore project value through Digital Collaboration from early in the project lifecycle. This is what you can expect from his case during 12th of June, parallel session 1: Developing an offshore project is complex and often takes many years from origination to first production. Early in the project lifecycle, there is typically significant uncertainty across multiple stakeholders, and it is often difficult to quickly and effectively identify the optimal solution. The complexity of these projects means there are always multiple development options to consider, with each alternative concept requiring extensive specialist design and analysis input to assess effectively. Inevitably there is always a trade-off between the level of effort invested and availability of resources vs the maturity of the data. This data is often siloed across multiple different stakeholders within the operator and their suppliers, requiring a multidisciplinary, stepwise approach to develop an optimal solution, driving development costs and timescales. In addition, as the overall solution matures, there is inevitably change, with the associated risk of rework, and its impact on the development cost and schedule, ultimately resulting in more uncertainties and risks being carried into project execution and often a sub-optimal solution. Digitalisation of the Field Development process provides a potential step change in the development of offshore projects, accelerating the concept development, evaluation, screening, and selection phases, whilst also improving the level of certainty and ultimately enhancing project value. Saipem and the shipyard reach an agreement to build the FPSO for the $6 billion TotalEnergies project. TotalEnergies EP Angola Block 20, a subsidiary of TotalEnergies, has given Saipem three new contracts for the Kaminho deepwater project, which is related to the development of the Cameia and Golfinho oil fields, around 100 kilometers offshore Angola. The contracts total $3.7 billion in value. The Kaminho Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel's engineering, procurement, construction, transportation, and commissioning are covered under the initial contract. Using the knowledge and experience gained from three other FPSOs that are presently operating offshore Angola, the second contract calls for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the same FPSO for a period of 12 years, with the possibility of an 8-year extension. The engineering, procurement, supply, construction, installation, pre-commissioning, and assistance for the commissioning and start-up of a subsea, umbilicals, and reactors are included in the third contract. #oilandgas #saipem #job #oilandgasprojects

In a significant stride forward, Wasco Berhad, through its Engineering and Fabrication arm, continues to make impressive headway on its flagship Angola FPSO project. This update follows our initial report from October 2023, marking another milestone in the ongoing development.   To revisit the project's origins, Wasco secured an EPC contract in December 2022 from a major global player in the FPSO sector. The contract involves delivering seven large topside modules for an FPSO destined for Angola. Demonstrating remarkable efficiency, we had also updated that Wasco completed 90% of the model review ahead of schedule.   Reflecting the Company's unwavering commitment to its “Goal Zero” and on-time delivery, Wasco has risen to a new challenge from its client. The task: to deliver three out of the seven critical modules, two weeks ahead of the agreed schedule. Embracing this ambitious target, Wasco is making steady progress, while ensuring that the remaining four modules will be delivered according to the agreed timeline.   A standout aspect of this achievement is the planned early delivery of two Power Generation Modules. These modules are the powerhouse and heart of the FPSO, each weighing a formidable 2,500 tonnes, underscoring the scale and complexity of the task at hand.   This progress is a testament to Wasco’s agility and ability to comprehend client exigencies, which is credited to the guidance of the leadership team and the collaborative efforts at the operational level.   Safety remains paramount, with the project logging an impressive 5.2 million man-hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI). “Wasco’s unwavering commitment to safety and quality has been key to achieving this accomplishment,” said Balaji Govindan, Vice President, Operations of Batam yard.   As Wasco continues to advance this critical project, further updates are anticipated in the coming weeks, promising more milestones and achievements.   Stay tuned for more updates as we track the progress of this significant undertaking.   #TeamWasco #EngineeringFabrication #FPSO #SafetyQuality #TopsideModules #OnshoreModules #ProcessModules #SubStations #EHouse #PAU #PAR
