▶️💬 #RoadSafetyWeek2023 may have finished, but we need to keep the conversation going about speed. Analysis of the latest road casualty statistics and a public opinion survey with 2,000 drivers, makes for uncomfortable reading: ▪️303 people died in crashes caused by drivers breaking the speed limit, up 20% since 2021 ▪️92% of drivers surveyed by Brake agree speed limits are essential for safe roads, yet more than a third (34%) say they sometimes or often break the speed limit ▪️39% of drivers surveyed agree the default speed limit on roads in built-up areas should be lowered from 30mph to 20mph ⏩ Driving too fast increases the likelihood of a crash, so why do people still think it's OK to speed? #LetsTalkAboutSpeed #RoadSafetyWeek Brake, the road safety charity #THINKRoadSafety The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Living Streets Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA)

I used to think that people are just plain stupid, lundging at police officers with knives, or shooting at cops w/ guns, but maybe not. Maybe people need to be taught common sense. Is it something you learn at home? School shouldn't have the burden of this, but I feel that something has to be done. And what is common sense to one may not be to another. Here is some sound advice, no matter what your age is: 1) Save your money. 2) Go to school. 3) Obey the law. 4) Be obeident to the police (this might even save your life), whether you think they are right or wrong (see advice #3). 5) Don't do drugs. 6) (and the most important) seek self actualization. Again, common sense to me; maybe not to others. If you feel that this has helped you, please send donations in check or money order to Eve's Automotive.

Check out a new driver awareness initiative, CheckPSP.com, which aims to empower truck drivers with crucial knowledge about their Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) reports. Initiative co-founder and SCTA member Motor Supply, Inc., found that many truck drivers are unaware of what PSP is and how vital it is to their careers. PSP essentially serves as a driver's resume in the trucking industry, containing valuable information about a driver's history, including inspection and crash records. Trucking companies and potential employers use PSP reports to evaluate a driver's safety and performance. CheckPSP.com encourages drivers to take the initiative and obtain their PSP reports. By doing so, drivers can gain insights into their records, identify areas for improvement, and present a more attractive profile to potential employers. To further support this initiative, Motor Supply, Inc. and other sponsors are offering to reimburse the cost of PSP reports for drivers (typically $10 each), with enough funds donated so far to cover over a thousand reports. Check out CheckPSP.com for more information.

As a leading motor insurer, road safety is incredibly important to us. We believe enhanced vehicle technology has the potential to reduce collisions and make significant safety improvements, both now and in the future. Our latest research in partnership with Brake, the road safety charity, focuses on the assisted driving technology in our vehicles and explores drivers’ attitudes to these features. It also questions drivers about their confidence in the improved safety benefits self-driving vehicles will offer. The study found that 41% of drivers have switched off features designed to keep them safe because they find them annoying. Read the key findings here: https://bit.ly/47Xd6Vt #RoadSafety

Sentry Logistics Group Inc Isn't quite big enough to have yearly carrier awards, but that doesn't mean I can't run a report and see who our top carriers for 2023 were. 1. Owner Operator of the Year: SMS Transport LLC, based out of Dothan AL. 2. Small Carrier of the Year: Wheelwright Trucking Inc, based out of Dothan AL. (RIP, they fell victim to the down market and we miss them very much) 3. Midsize Carrier of the Year: Tie Santa Barbara Freight Corp, based out of Carrollton TX. H T Bar Inc, based out of Aledo TX. 4. Large Carrier of the Year: Southern Ag Carriers, Inc Out of all carriers we worked with last year, Southern AG hauled the most loads. Imagine that, a brokerage with direct assets...that actually uses them! #ShipSentry #WeGuardYourFreight

It's been a busy week so far here at Road Angel HQ! Three more dealers signed up and plenty more in the pipeline. Each one signed up for different reasons: 1st dealer: Simply to stop their customers having to buy a Dash Cam online after they have purchased a vehicle, it's so much easier for the customer if our product is fitted before they collect their new car. 2nd dealer: To cover the profit no longer present due to the withdrawal from GAP insurance 3rd dealer: To have a road safety product available to their customers to buy and be fitted whilst in the sales or service department. Are you missing out? Please message me if interested in our dealer program #roadangel #carsales #cardealers #cardealerships #dashcams #profit #roadsafety

Kicking on all 8 Cylinders in our Family owned and Operated Businesses.... I've just completed my 5th month completely out of the Trucking Industry and finally had time to get a family picture... (in trucking there is no free time)... lol! On a more serious note: To anyone that's every wanted to take the plunge and go out on your own.... "You can do it." By Trade, I am a trucking expert and so many times as I lead or consulted for some of the Nations Largest & Most Prominent Carriers/Brokers I was asked, why don't you go out on your own? You are so smart. (I made up the smart comment) Well, 11 years ago in 2013, I started a business for my family 3 Sons Hardware in OHIO and it didn't take long and I was sucked back into trucking (of my own admission) 2014.... So my wife Lori Ables stepped in and successfully ran the hardware store while I kept (selfishly) advancing my Trucking career. In 2017, although we had the business in Ohio, I forcefully moved our family to Arkansas for a promotion with PAM Transport and Lori continued to run the store in OHIO from afar until 2018 when we sold our first store (against Lori's will) to Joseph Kallen and his Team Busy Beaver Building Centers, Inc. Why? So I could continue to (again selfishly) move my family around the country and become the CEO of a Trucking company in Minnesota The Dart Network... Needless to say, the family was sick of moving and of me chasing the Trucking Dream so in late 2021, I retired from the daily operations of Trucking Companies and Lori and I bought another Hardware Store in Big lake MN.... "Boom," Lori was back to doing what she loved, now joined by my oldest son David.... Me, in my early 50's I couldn't shake what I knew Best (Trucking & Logistics) so I started consulting around the country (200 nights a year on the road) Not exactly a Great father or husband but content in my safety zone! Fast forward to late 2023 and after two years as a Road Warrior, we found a Diamond in the Ruff and acquired the Tri County Lumber Company this January where I am now joined by my son Sam and after he graduates from HS this week my 3rd son Nicholas.... What does all this mean... It is me telling my peer group to not make the same mistakes as I did... Don't take 11 years to follow your dreams when you can make them a reality day 1.... Yea Sure, I could have successfully run our OHIO store and continued to grow in that market from 2013 forward.... But, "NO," I didn't, I got scared and fell back to what I felt safe in good old reliable Trucking.... How BIG could we have been? How much more would my 3 sons have enjoyed life being in the same school with the same friends? Not sure we will ever know what would have or could have happened.... Moral of this short Story.... Don't make the mistakes I did! Think BIG... Follow your dreams and make them a reality. "You can Do it."
