Women's Leadership Coach & Speaker | Helping women in schools and non-profits to lead more confidently, authentically, and unapologetically.
"Holy F. I do so many non-promotable tasks." When I give a talk, presentation, or workshop, I ask participants to share ONE TAKEAWAY. This was my favorite comment from an attendee. Are you in a situation where you have taken on too many responsibilities and tasks, and you're wondering, will any of this help my career, or am I just trying to be a "team player"? This is EXACTLY the type of conversation I have with my one-on-one clients. If you need outside support, an accountability partner, and someone who understands your struggles as a woman leader - reach out to me: https://lnkd.in/gwB5fKqm This feedback came from my most recent presentation at the Enrollment Management Association's Annual Conference. The session was titled "Asking For What You Need," We were focused on asking for resources for your office, a raise, additional staff, etc. However, thanks to an audience member's participation, we also talked about asking to have things REMOVED from your plate. I cover this more thoroughly in my delegation talks, but I loved the crossover of topics!

Yesterday we launched of one my favorite projects to work on! Nominations is a new add-on product built to streamline Nomination Programs from start to finish! Nomination programs to highlight top performers as nominated by their peers have long been a core method to build up company culture but there were two main problems that existed within these programs: 1. Extremely manual and time consuming. The amount of effort needed to run a nomination campaign each month was becoming a herculean effort. 2. Downward spiral of participation. Not anymore! With Nominations you can: - Open a Nomination event - Capture votes/responses - Review votes and select a winner or winners - Share recognition with all who received votes, even non-winners (This is key!) - Automatically generate a winner slide for your Townhall or All-Hands meeting If you're still trying to run your nominations program with a google forms and/or spreadsheets, do your self a favor and take a look at Nominations!

𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗟 𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗬 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚. 𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗬 𝗖𝗔𝗡. In recent years, conversations around diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging have taken centre stage in the corporate world. They are integral parts of our work culture. We are fascinated by how understanding of these topics evolves, impacting both individuals and businesses. It has contributed to cultural growth, personally and professionally. For instance, when onboarding new team members into special projects, they can be exposed to senior leadership and the decision-making process early in their careers. It serves as a powerful motivation for skill development because there is an opportunity to learn to communicate ideas concisely and follow through on actions independently. Another important consideration for those entering an industry for the first time is that they need an environment to grow and feel comfortable. It could mean explaining industry jargon during meetings or providing resources for them to understand better. But the journey to enabling a diverse and inclusive work culture doesn't end there. The concept of belonging weighs heavily in this equation. Even with the best programmes in place, if an individual feels like they're the only one of their kind in a team - the only woman engineer, for example - it can make a big difference in how they perceive their inclusion. Belonging is about: ↳ Feeling valued, heard, and accepted. ↳ Creating spaces where every voice contributes to the conversation and shapes it. ↳ Cultivating an environment where everyone can thrive, regardless of their backgrounds, beliefs, or experiences. In our view, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging all boil down to one fundamental concept - individuality. We aim to acknowledge and respect every single person for who they are and the unique perspectives they bring to the table. As we continue on this journey, it's crucial to remember that change begins with us - one person at a time. Each one of us has a role to play in promoting a work culture where everyone feels they belong. And, after all, in the grand scheme of things, isn't that what we all seek - a place where we belong? Join ELEVATE and help us create a workplace where everyone feels they belong. Connect with us: https://lnkd.in/gkYmwcxp

There is less than a month to go until nominations close for the SI Insider 50. So it’s time to get those entries in! But how do you write a winning nomination? This is what our judges want to see: 👉 Tell us about the impact – We don’t just want to know about what your nominee has done, we want to know the impact it has actually had. How has it changed things? What was the result? 👉 How did they get from A to B – It’s not just about where your nominee is now. We want to know about the journey they have had to get there. 👉 Tell us about the good times – What is your nominee most proud of and why? What makes them deserve a place in our Insider 50? 👉 But don’t leave out the bad parts – What struggles did your nominee have to overcome? Were there roadblocks in the way? How did they deal with these setbacks? How did they rise to the challenge? 👉 Make it personal - Bring in some personality, your nomination needs to stand out! 👉 Ditch the bullet points – We need to understand and get a sense for your nominee. Give plenty of context to give depth to your nomination. 👉 Don’t forget the “why” – Why are you nominating them? How do they influence you and those around them? If you want more information you can still catch our webinar “Writing a Winning Nomination for the SI Insider 50” here: https://lnkd.in/efTJCaZ6 **Nominations are open until 20th December and it’s completely free to nominate thanks to our amazing partner @audiense. ** #TheSIInsider50 #sociallistening #socialintelligence #socialdata

🔍 The Power of Showcasing Values: Insights from an Account Manager Hello, #linkedinfamily ! Today, I want to delve into a topic that resonates deeply with me as an Account Manager - the significance of shining a light on the values and unique attributes of both the company you represent and your own personal beliefs. Let's explore why this practice holds immense importance: 1️⃣ Building Trust through Transparency: In an era where authenticity is prized, highlighting the core values of the company I work for and aligning them with my personal values creates an atmosphere of transparency. This transparency is the foundation upon which trust is built with clients and partners, fostering strong, enduring relationships. 2️⃣ Crafting a Distinct Identity: Every company has its distinct strengths and virtues. By showcasing these features, we showcase what sets us apart in a crowded marketplace. As an Account Manager, I'm not just representing a brand; I'm advocating for a unique narrative that appeals to clients who share these values. 3️⃣ Fueling Team Synergy: When a company's values are shared openly, it becomes a rallying point for the entire team. It unites us under a common purpose, fuels our motivation, and stimulates collaboration, ultimately leading to collective success. 4️⃣ Personal Empowerment: Expressing my personal values alongside the company's demonstrates how I align with the company's mission on a personal level. It's empowering to know that my beliefs resonate with the organization I represent, further motivating me to excel in my role. 5️⃣ Community Building and Impact: Highlighting values doesn't just attract customers; it fosters a community. Sharing common values generates conversations and connections that amplify the impact we have, transforming clients into engaged advocates. In my role as an Account Manager, I see firsthand the positive outcomes of embodying these principles. By weaving the tapestry of both the company's and my personal values, we foster trust, uniqueness, team cohesion, personal growth, and a vibrant community. Here's to a future where we all proudly display our values as badges of honor. #ValuesMatter #CompanyCulture #PersonalBeliefs #TransparencyWins #DistinctIdentity #TeamSynergy #EmpoweredMinds #CommunityImpact #StrongerTogether #AccountManagerInsights #EmpoweringValues #BuildingTrust #ShowcasingStrengths #BelieveInWhatWeDo #LeadingWithValues

Spent yesterday with Nineteen Group Exec Team. To reach our next round 2028 North Star ⭐️ we need to grow 150 to 300 people. Scary! Books say: up to 150, you can get away with arms-round Culture. Beyond, different ball game. And, where many businesses build layers of bureaucracy. AKA: business prevention units. Those processes, and intro of HR teams, deemed necessary to manage layers of management, reporting lines and control decision making. OR - set your people free. "Stop checking in with line managers" just get on with it. So long as our people make decisions based around one or more of our values, they should be right. And when they're not, embrace that fall, share the precious learning with colleagues, and get back on. This is how we intend to build one of the best organisations in the world. Lets see. If we're wrong, promise to stop bugging you every morning on LinkedIn 🙏 Nineteen values: KADI: Kind, Agile, Driven & Inclusive 🙏💙
