As the appointed Chair of the Fairness in Construction Board, who has always strived for excellence and professionalism, I find it necessary to address these issues in the hope of fostering a more inclusive and equitable contracting environment. As a reminder, the Fairness in Construction Board was created to address and remediate unfair public procurement procedures in both city funded and assisted projects, including tax incentivized projects. Particularly, the Fairness in Construction Board addresses disparities and exclusion of available and qualified socioeconomically disadvantaged businesses on publicly funded and assisted contracts. Through the implementation of the Fairness in Construction Board (“Board”), we have created a more competitive and fair environment for all. This is achieved through the collaborative process of the members of the Board. Being comprised of collective bargaining organizations, majority owned businesses, minority and woman owned businesses, construction business organizations, professional construction services organizations, and community input has created a partnership that promotes equal access, opportunity and protection of the laws of the city, state and federal government in public procurement. The strength of the Board has been transparency in data collection and reporting from the City’s Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity Department. After repeated requests, the Board has been denied access to reports, administrative support and monitoring of city-funded and assisted contracts, including tax-incentivized projects (such as the Meta data-center project and more recently the Google data-center project). This has caused an increase in complaints of discriminatory activity in public procurement processes, on construction projects and reports of economic abuse of small and disadvantaged businesses on taxpayer funded projects. Over the past several decades, I have encountered numerous instances of discrimination based on race, color, sex and national origin in construction and its contracting procedures. These instances have ranged from subtle biases to outright discriminatory actions. A few examples of why Prime contractors need to be monitored. Especially JE Dunn, Turner Construction and McCownGordon in Kansas City Missouri our Disparity report displays discrimination. Mayor ignores Kcmo Fairness Board.

In 1986, my father co authored a study developing a four item structured self report scale. This article reviews the psychometric properties and tests the concurrent and predictive validity of a structured four-item self-reported adherence measure which can be easily integrated into the medical visit. Results showed the scale to demonstrate both concurrent and predictive validity with regard to blood pressure control at 2 years and 5 years, respectively. The meaning of people with IQ > EQ intelligence But EQ is 4 times more than reasoning, guys IQ= 1 person can have a normal IQ in today's society, people have EQ= 1 large organization with a lot of experience and knowledge, created and controlled by a person with EQ, creating many people and creating a large organization with a vision and bringing value to society x 4 times a strong pillar like a house needs 4 pillars and a national assembly needs 4 pillars and a family needs 4 people (parents and 2 children) and 2 children are 4 pillars to create a family BQ: The spirit conquers the race and continues to create like that according to reincarnation For example, men are EQ because they can create 4 pillars, many children to create a race So pls tell some gov agencies crt house n people personnel don’t under estimate director person n don’t read the book by the cover

Wow! Explains A LOT! Stopped me in my tracks. Thanks Holly Morris & Alex Partridge for sheding light on something thats been niggling me for years! For as long as I can remember I've questioned how long things last (degrees, course, etc). ⏳️ Or once the dopamine rush of a new creative idea has worn off, how long will it be before I hit the crash? 💥 What happens if this idea takes off, I go full throttle, create a whirlwind and then lose the drive & let people down? 😵💫 When I was barely conscious of this, I would seek out people who could enable me to get the idea across the line, or who could deliver on a idea (& therefore less flakey than me). Ive come to realise theres a couple of issues with this; 1) my dreams & goals are my dreams & goals. Yes, leverage other people's skills to realise your dreams BUT its a fine line between blending skills and expecting others to do it for you. And, I suspect I used the excuse to seek out 'help' as a deliberate attempt to avoid the uncomfortableness of having to do it myself. Subconsciously sabotaging the idea to stay 'safe'. 2) The idea that I can't follow through or that I have an untrainable skill gap is misguided self awareness. Someone, somewhere, at some point in time, may have said something which I chose to internalise as 'I cant'. I looked for evidence to back this up by replaying unhelpful scenarios & tagged those memories with the label of failure, none finisher, needs help etc etc It's a fine line between knowing your abilities so you can find complimenting skills and letting those lacking skills shame you.... As part of my mindfulness practice I remind myself everyday of my gifts of creativity and my thirst for inquiry. I'm a creator and my medium for delivery is self expression. Managing ADHD shame & over thinking is a life long practice. My brain feels like a sandstorm of ideas. I just can't follow up on all of them. But, whats the rush....?? Sure, i risk some ideas falling by the wayside but, my purpose is to keep creating and keep expressing. And, what was meant to be will follow with perfect timing. ♾️😍

I think the list could go on forever. I just don’t think it should…. without budget, headcount, respect. It's time to pivot from endless questioning to meaningful action. Adequate resources aren't just nice-to-haves. They're a must for sustaining efficiency and happiness. Leaders: It’s time to prioritize and properly equip this function. 11 things I’ve learned in 54 years Celebrating my 54th birthday over the weekend, I took some time to reflect. We’re all evolving and growing, making mistakes and learning some lessons along the way. Here are a few insights I picked up during my 54 laps around the sun: 1. At times, the best way to move ahead is to let go. 2. Being grounded and present is the most luxurious and exotic place on earth. 3. Confidence comes from doing hard things and learning how to bounce back from setbacks, not from hollow praise or participation trophies. 4. A freeing way to walk through the world: give generously, don’t keep score. 5. Fast > perfect. 6. Self-reliant people who take agency and responsibility for their outcomes are far happier and more successful than those who blame others and play the victim. 7. Legends do the work. 8. A core responsibility is to regularly put ourselves out of business with an upgraded version. 9. Kindness is a force multiplier. Anger, fear, and greed are pollutants. 10. Laughter is miracle-grow for the soul. 11. The purpose of life is a life with a purpose. Mine is to elevate others, love unconditionally, and help unlock human creativity to improve humanity.
