Our “Women Leadership in Male-Dominated Industries” panel, sponsored by PwC, brought together powerful voices in female leadership. Panelists CJ Bangah, Carla Zakhem-Hassan, Claudine Cheever, Sheryl Goldstein, and Jennifer Murillo discussed overcoming gender biases and imposter syndrome, ensuring the sustainability of DE&I initiatives in challenging times and more. #GoodBusiness Moderator Anne Kawalerski opened the session with a recent study projecting it will take “at least until 2032 to achieve gender parity across all S&P 500 boardrooms” which inspired a strong conversation on supporting gender parity in the workplace. Bangah shared a number of initiatives PwC has initiated to support DE&I in the workplace, as well as her experience with clients to support transformational work. More personally, she shared her desire to work in an environment which “allows everybody to just be a business person” and “to embrace that femininity and the opportunity it provides.” Reflecting on situations where she’s been the only woman in a room among hundreds of men, Hassan shared that it’s hard for “even the most confident of [women] to not be overwhelmed by that.” She added that she’s working to “give people the opportunity that they otherwise would never have.” Similarly, Murillo raised the importance of “trusting your instinct” as a woman in business, while also highlighting her desire to support “people coming up in the business to make sure they can find a version of themselves.” Cheever said that when asked for advice by emerging female leaders she encourages them to “ask for what they need”, and be “very comfortable with risk and very much leaning into bias for action.” She also advocated for diverse hiring processes usefulness in lower funnel performance. Goldstein finished the session with a call-to-action: “I have something to say and I’m going to say it…hire people for potential, not just experience.” #WomenInLeadership #DEI #Tech #Finance #BusinessServices #BloombergMedia #LeadershipInsights #GenderEquality

Inspiring Jennifer! Good to see so many leaders who have broken the glass ceiling. Gender equality is not women’s issue, it’s a human issue.
