60 Seconds With … Mirjam Scherer 🚀 Meet Mirjam Scherer, the Global Head of Specials Logistics at Air France KLM Martinair Cargo, has garnered more than 15 years of experience across sales, management and cargo logistics. Having joined KLM in 2002, prior to its merger with Air France, she has worked in a number of roles on both the passenger and cargo side of operations. ✈ How did you get into the air freight industry? It was kind of a coincidence because my background is in hotel management. However, I have always loved the KLM brand, so I applied for a job at KLM because of the international environment. While working for KLM, I used to ride horses as I was really a horse girl when I was young. Then, in 2007, I saw a job posting for a sales manager for live horses and thought, "Well, that combines my commercial competences with my personal interest in horses." I applied for the job and was hired, and since then, I have mostly been in air cargo, of which 7 years involved in the transportation of live animals. ✈ If you could have any superpower, what would it be? To let people truly listen to each other. Many people tend to speak without really hearing what others have to say. Better listening would lead to better understanding, and I think that would help a lot. ✈ If you could have dinner with any three people, living or dead, who would it be and why? I'm always intrigued by Obama, so I would like to have dinner with him. I don't really tend to look up to people; I just get inspired by them. Next would be Albert Plesman, the founder of KLM, because it was quite bold to start an airline back then. And then, I think, Nelson Mandela, no explanation needed. ✈  What's the best piece of advice you've ever received? What a week! Not sure how to make this post short and sweet. Three days was spent celebrating SAS - Scandinavian Airlines entry to SkyTeam, but it became a lot more than that with all the news that we had to share. - Let's start with Skyteam. It means a lot to SAS to finally be partnering up with an alliance that fully wants to cooperate with us. Already we have good network synergies with Air France-KLM, Delta Air Lines and more is to come. - Singapore Airlines is still a great JV partner making sure we have an amazing partner to the east with a great product and network. - SAS signing a wetlease agreement with BRA - Braathens Regional Airlines so that we can optimize the domestic network in Sweden. Not only will the timetable be better, but also more connections out of Arlanda to reach the world. SAS - Scandinavian Airlines is all about connecting people and places. - Copenhagen Airports A/S will become a stronger hub with not only an increased network, but also with improved connections from all our airports flying there. We will more than double the amount of connections that we have today which is simply amazing. - Introducing business class on our European network to align with our partners and to offer a better product for those connecting to an intercontinental flight in Copenhagen. ...and there's more to come. They’re right when they say time flies when you’re having fun… Today marks 1 year since I started my #easyJet journey - crazy! Within only one year there’s been so much learning, change, and opportunity, and I couldn’t be more grateful. And I wanted to take this chance to share just some of the things I’ve learnt this past year. 1. Airlines are soooo much more than just pilots and cabin crew! (Okay right fair enough, I knew that) But being in recruitment you get to see the widest variation of jobs across the business, learning about all the different functions and how they work together to make this incredible airline run - it has been so interesting✈️ 2. Throw yourself into anything and everything… it’s going to help you grow as a person! I’ve been able to take part in countless events over the past year, simply by saying yes and offering my help, which ultimately has also led me to be able to meet some amazing people along the way🦸🏼♀️ 3. Change is enevitable, don’t be scared of it. If you told younger me 10 years ago that I now see change as a positive thing, she’d laugh in your face! Change is daunting, but try to take the pros from it, not the cons💪🏼 4. Doors wouldn’t open if they weren’t ready to. Moving from my original role in Crew Recruitment over to the M&A team was terrifying at first, but it’s given me chances that I never would have expected would come within my first year in a new role. 🌍Which leads me on to my last point… (I’m sure you’ll be pleased to know) 5. I can do hard things!!! This one is huge for me… Throw me back to my last few years in high school, and I would cry thinking of where I’d be in 5, 10, 15 years, it terrified me! But being here at easyJet has shown me that no matter what comes your way, you’ll be OK. I am adaptable to new teams, I can learn new things, I can form new strong relationships with people. I once saw a quote that said ‘Bad news: you’re growing and it’s uncomfortable. Good news: you’re uncomfortable but you’re growing’. Wish I could’ve told younger me that too🩷 Here’s to the next year… let’s see where it takes me😁

Dear Lufthansa ! Congrats for scoring 18th in the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards ! ...behind Air France ...behind Turkish Airlines ...behind British Airways ...behind Iberia (that must hurt) ...behind Vistara/Air India (that really must hurt) Let's not even talk about customer-minded airlines like Singapore or Qatar. I wonder when your management will start to understand that only true and absolute customer centricity is the key to a healthy and sustainable bottom line. That is REAL shareholder value. Why don't you start with your co-workers ? Pay them fair wages and stop trying to constantly go around their backs by creating yet another sub-sub-sub carrier only to hire others who will work for less. How can you expect them to do a good job if you don't ? Stop taking your customers for fools. Communicate honestly and don't talk about "improvements" when you are really limiting your service. Especially those folks who fill your First and Business Class cabins are usually pretty smart and know when they are being BS'd Treat your agents as equal partners. They are the ones who face the customer and represent YOU. Don' think they will cheer you on when you constantly try to take away their business. Aim to be the Apple Corp of airlines. Create products that your customers don't want to live without and are willing to pay top €/$ for. Looking forward to seeing you at the top of the Awards soon !

✈️ Positive Lufthansa Experience ✈️ I know it’s easy to complain when things don’t go as planned, but I want to share a positive experience I recently had with Lufthansa*. My flight from Munich to London was cancelled and rebooked not once, but twice. What originally was a direct flight turned into one with a stopover in Zagreb, resulting in a total delay of about 10 hours. That said, here’s where Lufthansa impressed me: ✔️ Both rebookings were done automatically within 5 minutes of each cancellation, so I didn’t even have to scramble to figure things out.   ✔️ I received a refund for the majority of the flight within 2 days.   ✔️ Filing the claim was incredibly easy—no hassle, no back and forth. Honestly, things can go wrong, but it’s how a company handles it that counts. Based on this experience, I would definitely book Lufthansa again. Sometimes, things just happen, but the service I received made all the difference! #Lufthansa #PositiveExperience #CustomerService
