We just finished the final day of #FutureQuest! Our day began with breakfast at Madland, a hub for innovators rethinking the food system. We were joined by some of the city’s leading food entrepreneurs, who shared their insights and let us sample some of their incredible (and delicious) innovations at the @Kitchen Collective. David Astorino shared the science behind human resilience, helping us understand how to recover and sustain high performance on the journey to driving a more sustainable future. Nigel Topping, CMG presented exciting data showing that the energy transition is happening much faster than predicted, demonstrating that exponential change is not only possible but already underway. We wrapped up the program by exploring how to integrate our insights for the next level of leadership to accelerate transformation in our organizations and beyond. My key takeaways... 1. Business is a powerful tool for solving tough problems, but a 'business as usual' mindset can get in the way. Sometimes, we need to start with a blank piece of paper and ask: Where is the demand? How can I meet it in the smartest, most efficient, and responsible way? This is how new markets emerge and industries transform. 2. Leadership in the tumultuous 2020s requires 'visionary deliverers'—those who can maintain focus on long-term goals while taking one step at a time and executing with acumen and bravery.
