📲 Immunization programs can utilize digital tools such as SMS gateways and mobile platforms to promote vaccination through hyper-local targeted messaging. But what kinds of messages are most effective for these tools to use? What are the barriers to immunization in different communities? 🔎 As part of the Digital Results Improve Vaccine Equity and Demand (DRIVE Demand) project, Digital Square partnered with Busara to conduct behavioral research on vaccine hesitancy and intention in four countries. The results were packaged into a Practitioner's Playbook to inform digitally enabled social and behavior change (SBC) approaches. 💡 Hear from Busara to learn about their methods, findings, and this new resource for immunization, digital health, and SBC health practitioners in an upcoming webinar: 📅 Thursday, June 27 🕘 9am EST / 4pm EAT ➡ Register: https://lnkd.in/erYB89Na #VaccinesWork #SBC #digitalhealth Rowan Harrity Julia Hammann Heidi Good Gregory Kuzmak

MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity is pleased to invite you to a learning exchange webinar on Wednesday, November 15 to discuss targeted assessments for identifying #ZeroDose and under-immunized children. Reducing the number of zero-dose and under-immunized children requires accurate, specific data. However, managers and implementers of immunization programs are often challenged by the availability of reliable data for informed decision-making. Targeted assessments involve data collection at the household or individual level among a specific population of interest to: 💉Measure vaccination coverage, and 💉Understand reasons for lack of vaccination, vaccination timeliness, dropouts, and missed opportunities. This webinar will focus on the use of some of these methods, including LQAS (lot quality assurance sampling) and cluster surveys, drawing from experiences in two countries as well as reflections from the World Health Organization on how these approaches can be used as part of “The Big Catchup.” Register now: https://lnkd.in/eK-Hvj4E

Are you ready for our next Data Sneak Peek? Here's some research we'll be releasing soon: ↗ In 2023, local health departments had an average of only one-third of an FTE dedicated to immunization activities per 10,000 people in their jurisdiction. This is despite the proportion of health departments spending an average of more than 20 hours per week on immunization increasing from 34% in 2017 to 45% in 2023. ↗ Local health departments improved access to immunizations by expanding clinics in community settings or their hours of operation. Despite these activities, eight in 10 health departments reported that #VaccineHesitancy was a barrier to their work. ↗ Average local health department spending on immunization increased during the #COVID19 pandemic – more than doubling from FY2020 to FY2021 and FY2022. In addition, health department immunization staff spent 15% of their time (on average) administering COVID-19 vaccines. #LocalIZProfileStudy

Rise of zero-dose children's cohorts in our country (India). Despite a strong immunization infrastructure and reach, the numbers continue to increase. The current lacuna in India's immunization program must be addressed, especially in rural and unreached urban areas. To tackle these challenges, strategic interventions are crucial. Targeted efforts in rural and unreached urban areas are essential to ensure all children receive the necessary vaccinations. Implementing community engagement programs and improving accessibility to healthcare facilities can greatly impact immunization rates. In addition, leveraging digital tools can revolutionize the way we approach these issues. By utilizing technology for tracking and monitoring vaccinations, we can streamline processes and ensure timely interventions. Digital platforms can also be used to educate communities about the importance of immunization and dispel any myths or misinformation. In conclusion, addressing the rise of zero-dose children cohorts requires a multi-faceted approach. By strengthening the immunization program, focusing on rural and unreached urban areas, and harnessing the power of digital tools, we can make significant strides towards improving vaccination coverage and protecting the health of our nation's children. Let's work together to create a healthier and more resilient future for all. #PublicHealth #Immunization #DigitalHealth #HealthcareAccess #CommunityEngagement.
