The rest? Well, they fall into two categories: 1️⃣ The Minimalists: Their headline merely says "Store Manager.” 2️⃣ The Maximalists: Their headline overflows with buzzwords like "Operations Manager| Inventory| Retail management| Logistics| Store Operations.” What's common? Both categories miss out on grabbing attention. And what's more intriguing, a majority of these profiles are on the hunt for new job opportunities. Doesn't it make sense, then, to ensure that your profile - especially the headline - stands out in the eyes of recruiters who are scanning through hundreds, if not thousands, of profiles daily? I've got a formula to make your headline shine 🌟 Step 1️⃣: Start with your Role. Include your job title but add a bit more context. For example, if you are a Store Manager, specify the industry or type of store you're managing. Eg: "Store Manager | High-End Fashion Retail". Step 2️⃣: Add your Unique Value Proposition. What makes you different? Perhaps you have an exceptional track record in increasing store sales or managing large teams. Eg: "Driving 20% YOY Store Sales Growth | Developing High-Performance Retail Teams". Step 3️⃣: List a core competency or skill you're proud of. Just pick one or two to avoid overload. Eg: "Specialist in Retail Analytics & Inventory Management.” So now, our headline looks like: "Store Manager | High-End Fashion Retail | Driving 20% YOY Store Sales Growth | Developing High-Performance Retail Teams | Specialist in Retail Analytics & Inventory Management". By following this formula and updating your headline, you will see: ✅ More connection requests are being accepted. ✅ Faster response to your DMs to others. ✅ More recruiters are viewing your profile. ****Account Management Hiring in Retail Media**** When I set up Vertical Advantage I had restrictions from working with 144 retailers / consumer brands for a year. I hadn't run my own desk for 2 years & wanted to build an desk connected to my network - I chose the data & loyalty space within agencies & in my first couple months I placed talent with 5one (now Mastercard) and Ogilvy. Soon afterwards I developed a great relationship with Aimia Inc (thanks Bradley Winstanley) and as this market evolved, we built more and more relationships within the Retail Media space. What I love about hiring here is that the pool of talent & transferable skills is so broad in this space and you can excel in this space coming from various markets - here's some skills / market thoughts to consider if hiring in the space: Retail - Buying, Partnerships, Marketing, Category Management & eComm; FMCG - Trade / Shopper Marketing, Category Management, National Accounts & Insights; Media - all aspects of the media industry but publishing / traditional print often transitions well & have great retail understanding; Agencies / Platforms - more obvious but data literacy is key when hiring talent in this space & those within the more creative markets can often struggle in retail media; What have I missed? #RetailMedia #Hiring #Skills
