It’s easy to think of innovation as something big, explosive and sudden, but that isn’t always the case. Whether it’s artificial intelligence or influencer marketing platforms, Jessica Berger, svp of innovation for Publicis Media, finds that testing new technologies is sometimes about building off of existing trends and techniques – while being able to embrace rapid testing and versatility. Such a pleasure sharing my thoughts among intriguing minds! Thank you Campaign Middle East for the feature and opening up this conversation in AI. The short end of my answer? YES 1. AI Transparency is going to be such a key factor in maintaining the authenticity of our content. To what extent do we want to blur the lines of reality for our consumers? There has to be a line. 2. Openly embracing the use of AI & its untapped potential will also help foster industry acceptance and normalise it - because why not explore how our brands can evolve with it… 3. Two words - Tranformative Progress. AI has the ability to push the bounds of our creativity and to think beyond what’s possible in our physical world - being open about using it can inspire innovation among others as well.

Was a pleasure contributing to Campaign Middle East's AI discussion. Should brands be disclosing AI in our social campaigns? My answer: Yes. Creating day-to-day content with AI will soon be standard, but as the real and digital worlds become increasingly indistinguishable, users will mistrust fake stories and crave real experiences on social. Especially when investing in purpose-driven, emotional content, brands need to disclose AI in a way that improves the idea, or face backlash. Knowing that AI content is inevitable, perhaps social platforms themselves will flag it if brands choose not to. Trust is already a key battleground, so leaning into transparency with AI will help legitimise brands in front of an increasingly savvy audience.
