In Women in Leadership, a program of FOCUS St. Louis, we believe in experiential learning, and that the community is our classroom. Today, our classroom was Emerson, and Andi Blaylock LCSW, CEAP, SAP was our host. We began the day with a candid and refreshing conversation about their respective leadership journeys with Beverly Jenkins, Nicole (Nicci) Roach, Sarah Hoffmann Wendt, SPHR-SCP, MBA, and Dr Ronda Sauget, MBA. Thank you for your leadership and commitment to excellence. Here are a few gems shared today: -Be in the room; you belong! -Don't find yourself quitting before you quit. -On risk: There is no such thing as safety/security, only familiarity. -Give yourself permission not to know. -Competitive intelligence requires preparation, a story, and being genuine. -On mentorship: Three mentors to have 1. same sex, same race, 2. opposite gender, and 3. different nationality/culture.

Is Your Leadership Development Program Undermining Your DEI Goals? - Companies with mentoring programs saw an 18% increase in Black women managers over five years. - According to McKinsey’s 2021 Women in the Workplace study, white men make up 35% of entry-level employees but 62% of the C-suite. - As employees ascend the career ladder, representation in the leadership pipeline increases for those in majority groups, but decreases for underrepresented ones. https://lnkd.in/gaas4j_K

🌟 Sharing from our latest Inclusive Leadership Workshop 🌟 Had a great time with my regional leadership team in KL this week taking part in our 2nd Inclusive Leadership Workshop. The facilitators, Jasbir Singh and Lee Yen Chin, were absolutely fantastic. They guided us through insightful discussions about the power of diversity and inclusion. 🤝 🔑 Key Takeaways: Diverse Teams Perform Better: It’s a fact! When we bring together people with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, magic happens. 🌟🚀 Inclusion Matters: But here’s the catch—diversity alone isn’t enough. We need to actively create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and respected. 🤝💡 Becoming an Inclusive Leader: It starts with self-awareness. Reflect on your biases, actively seek diverse perspectives, and champion equity. 🌟 DE&I Journey at DNV: Our journey toward diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) is ongoing. Let’s keep learning, growing, and making positive changes! 🌏 Thank you to everyone in my team for your active participation and sharing. 🙌 Let’s continue building a workplace where everyone thrives. #InclusionMatters #LeadershipJourney #DNVDEI #LearningTogether

I had the privilege of attending the SPARK 200 Leadership Symposium, themed "Level Up: The Power in You," organized by DIAMOND INCUBATOR LTD. The event was incredibly insightful, featuring outstanding speakers like Gladys Mutsa Patswani, Adekunle Ogundipe, Mwila Chriseddy Bwanga, and more. They shared valuable insights: -Be prepared to navigate complexity adeptly. -Stay true to your values and ethical principles. -Emphasize gratitude and authenticity in your approach. -Cultivate active listening as a leader. -Be intentional about fostering personal and professional growth

It’s a hard truth to face: Leaders from underrepresented minority groups are still few and far between in corporate leadership ranks. Despite the increasing attention that organizations are putting toward diversity programs, the reality is that many simply aren’t successful because they fail to provide the necessary resources, skills, and opportunities to future leaders in underrepresented groups. Bravanti helps organizations build a legacy of diversity and inclusion, which goes beyond statistics and fosters an environment that encourages the recruitment, development, and enhancement of underrepresented groups. Our customized programs include: 👉 Accelerated development programs 👉 Career skills workshops 👉 Individual coaching 👉 Peer coaching groups 👉 Inclusion conferences 👉 Employee resource groups To truly harness the power of diversity and propel your organization into a future marked by growth, resilience, and inclusivity, schedule a free consultation to take the first step toward transforming your leadership landscape.
