Digital Health and Health Innovation Advisor and Consultant | Urgent Care Specialist | DrJunaidHussain.com | Practising Doctor | Personal Interest In Men's Mental Health. Love walking and hiking 🥾
🤯I just witnessed the power of collaboration in digital health - first hand..... 🏥Yesterday, I proudly represented Badger Health Group, a member of UHUK - which is an organisation who's members are independent urgent care providers from across the UK. 🤝It was a meeting of amazing minds at the University of Warwick, with all members active in urgent care in the UK, with representation from C-Suite to clinicians and everything in between. 🏔️UHUK runs a 'challenge' to find problems that are affecting out of hours providers/urgent care providers and then calls innovators and companies to work with the members to co-create solutions and test them. ⏲️As members we spent most of the afternoon, thrashing out challenges we face and finding themes and commonalities. 👉🏽The next step will happen in early 2024 as UHUK will put out a call to companies who wish to rise to the challenge, create and test impactful products that can really disrupt urgent care in the UK and potentially scale across its members and beyond. The themes we decided on today, will be released by UHUK soon. 🫵🏽If you are a company involved in healthcare/digital health/healthtech or an innovator/company that produces awesome products that could potentially be used across domains to make an impact - follow UHUK now! Many thanks to Conor Burke, Dr Julia Dawson and everyone at UHUK for putting on an excellent first session with a collaboration of forward-thinking minds. FYI for you to keep tabs on: Dr. Derrick Khor Dr. James Somauroo Dr. Keith Tsui Willow Scott Claire Flynn Emma White Liam Molesworth Liam Cahill and please tag anyone else or companies that may wish to be involved in improving urgent care.

While every hfm magazine is full of useful content for Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) members, I'm always most proud of pieces that spotlight our members. In the October edition, Senior Editor Crystal Anglen Milazzo reports on the HFMA Maryland Chapter's "Inclusion and Equity in Healthcare Conference." What I love about this article is it's not just about what happened at the conference, but also includes a few thoughtful tips on constructing such an event. https://lnkd.in/gYhkDQDS

🌍💡 Last week, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung New York hosted a crucial discussion on "Innovation Horizon: Strengthening community-based primary healthcare in the digital age." Leaders from the UN, governments, private sector, and civil society converged to discuss global health challenges and the importance of primary care and community healthcare in achieving #SDG3. #PocketPatientMD Founder & CEO Mark Wien, Stewart Simonson of the World Health Organization, and Margaret (Lippitt) Prust of Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. were able to share their experiences and insights in an event moderated by Thomas Tödtling. Some key takeaways: ---Political will is crucial for universal health coverage (UHC), benefiting global health as a shared good. ---Engaging doctors and key stakeholders early ensures sustainable health solutions. ---Governments play a pivotal role in shaping healthcare visions and fostering innovation across sectors, but there is importance in private sector engagement and public-private collaboration. The event highlighted a commitment to achieving more equitable health outcomes through cutting-edge solutions and collaborative efforts. Digital technology will play a vital role in improving healthcare delivery, especially in primary care and community health settings, and remote and marginalized communities. It underscores the transformative potential of digital innovations in ensuring that healthcare reaches everyone, everywhere. "The #NHS has an #innovation problem. The problem, however, is not that the system lacks an appetite for innovation; rather, it is that successive efforts to create an enabling environment for innovation have been met with only limited success. But why?" Read our latest blog by Tom Ling and Robert Romanelli, PhD, MPH: https://lnkd.in/etSbwRfq

⚠️Register for the upcoming #IFICAustralia Webinar - ‘Epic Fails’ in Integrated Care – Learning from our Failures!⚠️ There are many ways in which we get things wrong when integrating care: • A lack of shared values or vision. • The local context hasn’t been considered. • People and communities are not at the centre of health and care services. • The capacity of local communities may have been neglected. • The workforce is not sustainable. • Governance models are not in place, or there is an absence of leadership. • There’s an inability for data and information to be collected, stored, and shared. • Financial systems are fragmented. • No one has considered what success will look like or how it will be measured. • Drawing on a panel of experienced Australian integrated care practitioners, this webinar seeks to explore our failures in integrated care, and reflect on how we might better design, implement, and evaluate our integrated care initiatives moving forward. This session covers the following topics: • Failure related to study design • Lessons learned in implementing integrated care initiatives • Failures in the integration of primary care • Balancing research and service delivery aims. Facilitated by Dr Zoi Triandafilidis of University of Newcastle and Central Coast Research Institute (CCRI) with panellists Dr Jennifer Mann (PhD) of Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service, Dr Karen Hutchinson of Macquarie University and Dr James A Gillespie of University of Sydney. 📆Wednesday, 22nd May ⏰7.00AM Dublin | 8.00AM Brussels | 4.00PM Sydney 🔗https://lnkd.in/gMpEXBmC
