Hello LinkedIn Family, My name is Amor Zayana, and I am a 13-year-old with a dream as big as a Formula 1 racetrack. While I may be young, my passion for motorsport is immense, and I am determined to zoom towards my goal of becoming a Formula 1 driver. Without the necessary funds to fuel my racing career, I’ve decided to take proactive steps towards my dream. My ideal career path looks like this: 1. Indoor Karting - where it all begins. 2. Brentwood Junior Championship (Outdoor 4 strokes rentals)- my current step. 3. Club 100 British Championship (2-Strokes Rental) - Starting this month🔥 4. Become a Rotax kart owner and win the British Championship 5. Run the CIK-FIA Championship to prove my skills on a bigger stage. Move up the ranks to F4, F3, and F2. The ultimate goal: F1 – because who doesn't dream of standing on that podium? For those of you working in the motorsport industry, you will know this week is #NationalMotorsportWeek but for those of you that don't follow motorsport so closely, you may not have seen Motorsport UK's most recent campaign.    National Motorsport Week is all about raising awareness of the sport, celebrating those who compete, volunteer and work in the industry as well as introducing as many new people into the sport as possible.    Motorsport has given me so much already in my career. Being able to work in a sport that I love and be able to call race weekends work is a dream come true.    For many others, the sport is about community, the adrenaline of competing or the enjoyment of watching the fast-paced action. The truth is, motorsport is multi-faceted bringing so much joy, ambition and purpose to so many people.    From this post I ask two things;  1.  I encourage those in the industry to share their stories and love for the sport  2. For everyone else, join us in celebrating National Motorsport Week - watch, learn, compete, volunteer or work. There is so much to get involved in and you never know where it might take you!

🌴 With SailGP in Bermuda, it was only fitting to invite Bermudian Olympic gold medalist, Flora Duffy, sponsored by Apex Group, to get in on the action. 🏅💥 As she was out competing ahead of the Olympics, in her place she put forward some of the aspiring Bermudian athletes who have benefitted from The Flora Fund. This group of young athletes experienced some one-on-one time with the pro-athletes of SailGP and exclusive behind the scenes access.      🌊 𝗨𝗽-𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻     Following an intro by Thomas Herbert-Evans, the man behind the SailGP Inspire program, they watched a SailGP boat being craned out of the water after a dramatic capsize. Tom then explained how the F50 catamarans are built and made ready for the world’s most sustainable racing event. 🌱     🏆 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗚𝗣 𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲     They took a close look at the Germany SailGP Team F50 to learn about the technology powering these outstanding machines and how they’re operated during racing.      The highlight was a Q&A with France SailGP Team driver Quentin Delapierre, who explained exactly what it takes to fulfil the dream of becoming a professional athlete.      The team then met Nick Hutton of Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team who gave them invaluable advice on how young athletes can give themselves the best chance for success in their chosen field.       📊 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀      Modern sport isn’t just physical, it’s also highly technical, so a visit to the Oracle data station provided insight into how millions of data points are collected and analysed both on and off the water to make the split-second decisions that alter the course of a race.      A pit-stop at the United States SailGP Team tent showed the how the configuration of the F50 can be changed for optimum performance depending on weather conditions.      👋 Before they left, the tour ended with a close-up look at how the F50 is constructed and some spectacular tales of the successes - and crashes - the sport has seen over the years.      This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that will assist with setting these aspiring athletes up for success in their future careers. London Marathon 2025: 840.318 applications, 2% got a place. What about a ballot for F1 races? I had this conversation on ballots many times in the past. Ballots are a common practice in the UK but not in other countries. Here's how it works: (Ballots meaning you are picked at random) - In major events where demand exceeds availability, a ballot system is implemented to provide everyone with a fair chance. - If you win the ballot, you can secure a spot or purchase a ticket. 2 examples: - 𝗪𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗻:  Winners of the ballot get the opportunity to purchase tickets at face value. - 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻:  Winning the ballot grants you the chance to participate in the race. There has been considerable debate surrounding F1 ticket availability and costs lately. What about allocating a percentage of tickets through a ballot system? It could be beneficial for many European races where ticket prices are prohibitive for numerous fans, or sell out quickly. I think it could be a great way to give fans a fair chance. What are your thoughts on this? P.S. Anyone in my community that got a place to 2025 London Marathon? I was one of the 840.318 applying, but it was not time for me. Red Bull gives you wings, aka when F1 meets WorldTour This weekend GCN reported that the new Red Bull Bora HansGrohe kit for the Tour de France has been leaked. The navy design is very much similar to that sported by the Red Bull F1 team. The team will become Red Bull Bora-Hansgrohe just before Tour de France, with the new kit probably seeing the light of day during the Grand Depart. What's more important, I think, is the fact that Red Bull's infusion of capital into the team may bring Bora-Hansgrohe's budget to the level of UAE and Visma | Lease-a-bike. What does that mean? I would imagine that in the next year or two the team may have enough financial freedom to invest heavily into buying and developing even better riders. The net effect should be simple: more competition, which should translate to more exciting races. I feel like the kit could be a bit flashier. The current one is very distinctive, while this one is just standard. But that's just my personal opinion. ⁉️Do you like the kit? We had the pleasure of talking to Luis González, Spanish F4 Championship and Eurocup 3 race director, about track limits, their importance and how they affect many races, even leading to their cancellation. For Luis, "the control of track limits is essential to avoid sporting advantages and for the safety of the drivers. In championships like ours, the competitive advantage is very great when track limits or shortcuts are used, because the cars have the same performance and many of them run in the same second. In his opinion, "the worst consequence of a championship's poor management of track limits is the loss of prestige for all the parties involved, both for the drivers who gain an advantage by respecting the rules, and for the companies involved, the circuits and the officials in the performance of their duties". For this reason, he denounces the fact that the control of the track limits has become "95% of race director and the stewards’ work”, which means that "they cannot attend to their real tasks and cannot focus on the development of the sessions". Based on his experience as a race director, Luis believes that the "perfect scenario" for championships is "automation and delegation to companies like Al Kamel Systems, which manage the entire track limits, from detection to possible penalties". "In a championship like ours, there are between 300 and 400 track limits per session, which is unacceptable. Finally, Luis sends us a message in which he emphasises that "we trust AKS both for its technology and its team, which is at the highest level to meet the requirements of the championships". #AlKamelSystems #TechnologyByAKS #F4SpanishChampionship #Eurocup3

What does ‘good’ look like? Or ‘great’ even? This is often a surprisingly hard question to answer. Take for example cycling and the current Tour de France – how do you determine who is the best? Is it someone like: 🚀 Mark Cavendish, who has won more stages than anyone else? 🎯 Biniam Girmay, who has the greatest consistency of high place finishes? ⏱ Tadej Pogacar, who has the lowest total cumulative time? 🌍 Mathieu van der Poel, who won the World Championships? 📣 Jonas Abrahamsen, who has showcased his sponsors the most? You could make a strong case for all of the above, and many others, which is part of what makes cycling really interesting as a sport. What links them all though, is that every one of them made a choice to specialise in one area, and then be the best at that. If you spread yourself too thin, and try and do everything, then you often end up just being average. A jack of all trades, master of none.
