🚨 REMIT2 went live on 7 May 2024 📆 While many obligations apply immediately, several kick-in at later dates. Critically, firms classified as “Persons Professionally Executing Transactions” (PPETs) now have until 8 November 2024 to meet the obligations set out under Article 15(2). This means broadly that any firm trading wholesale energy products and financial instruments which fall under the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) must have the ability to detect and report suspicious trading activity to the relevant national energy regulator and ACER. Considering that any trades executed on Regulated Markets such as ICE Endex and EEX fall under MAR, this obligation will apply to many European energy trading firms regardless of size.  Does your organisation trade on exchanges like EPEX Spot and Nord Pool?  Do you need a surveillance tool that can help you be REMIT2 compliant?  Do already have a surveillance tool but it struggles to cover short term power markets?  Do you need to have a surveillance tool in place by 8 November 2024?
