Devex Talent Solutions is assisting Value for Good GmbH in their search for a Global Health and Life Sciences Officer for the Human Development Accelerator (HDX) Hub. The European Commission (EC), the European Investment Bank (EIB), and the Gates Foundation (GF) have announced a new financing partnership to address critical global health challenges. This partnership is creating a Human Development Accelerator (HDX) Hub to develop and manage a pipeline of at least €1 billion in investments into global health and human development in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa. As part of the HDX Hub, the Global Health and Life Sciences Officer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the Life Sciences and Health Division within the EIB. The role will be instrumental in shaping HDX Hub projects across health, nutrition, education, and other sectors, ensuring sustainable development in priority areas. The Global Health and Life Sciences Officer will engage with various stakeholders, ensuring the highest standards of impact, sustainability, and innovation. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in life sciences or biotech, inclusive development, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics. A background in science will be essential for evaluating the technical, economic, and social viability of high-impact health products, from therapeutics to diagnostics. Understanding of LMIC and global health market drivers is required. Experience in development finance, particularly with DFIs or EU institutions, is preferred. The position is based in Brussels, Belgium, and will include regular travel to project locations across and outside the EU.
