As a Nigerian-Czech, I am proud to be part of the DBG diversity and inclusiveness. From the openness and positive attitude shown by colleagues, I am not afraid to navigate the cultural differences, rather I am free to showcase my talent in an environment that not only appreciates but encourages the diversity and in turn this creates a company culture, that broadens each colleagues horizon with the shared experiences from our diverse backgrounds. Am not suprised to hear people have worked 25-35 years in DBG, the culture and investement in the Human Resources is the best so far experienced.

Excellent piece from Gill Savage FARPI (visiting senior fellow with Australian Strategic Policy Institute Northern Australia Strategic Policy Centre, and member of the UTS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) Industry Advisory Board*) on the importance of "community-to-community" engagement in the Indo-Pacific.
She concludes with the following observations:
"There’s no doubt that community-to-community engagement in the Indo-Pacific needs to be informed by foreign policy objectives. However, that requires active and ongoing conversation within Australia about those objectives, and foreign policy officers must shift from acting like they have a single voice to enabling many voices. This would allow community-to-community engagement to earn the credit it deserves as a subject of foreign policy effort."
"If we increase emphasis on mutual impact, achieved through collaborative local initiatives with partner nations, we’ll influence our region all while helping Indo-Pacific communities, including our own, grow."

My latest piece on ‘sub-national’ collaboration. ‘Equally important is the need to appreciate that smaller nations in the region must navigate international relations differently to larger powers. For them, this is more than a ‘hedging’ strategy—it’s a cultural commitment to friendliness with everyone.’

The United Nations designates various international days, weeks, years, and decades to raise awareness and promote action on important issues. These observances are proposed by Member States and established by the General Assembly through resolutions. These occasions serve as reminders of the importance of addressing global challenges and working towards common goals.

Empowering Global Citizens: The Vision of Plumia and SafetyWing 🌍✈️
In an increasingly interconnected world, traditional borders are fading away, and new opportunities are emerging for global citizens. This shift towards a borderless society has been accelerated by the power of the internet and remote work. It's a vision that SafetyWing, a trailblazing technology company, and its umbrella project, Plumia, are actively turning into reality. #GlobalCitizens#SafetyWing#Plumia
The Birth of SafetyWing 🚀
Founded in 2018 by three Norwegian digital nomads, SafetyWing embarked on a mission to build a new kind of country on the internet. Their goal was audacious: to create a global social safety net accessible to anyone, regardless of their location or nationality. Fast forward to today, SafetyWing is not just a company; it's a movement that's reshaping how we think about borders and citizenship. #DigitalNomads#GlobalSafetyNet
SafetyWing's journey from its humble beginnings to becoming a global force is nothing short of remarkable. The company, which started with a small team of digital nomads, has now grown to include over 150 individuals from more than 60 countries. It's a testament to the universal appeal of their mission: to provide equal opportunities and access to social safety nets for people worldwide. #Equality#GlobalOpportunities
The Plumia Project: A Think Tank for Global Mobility 🧠🌐
Plumia, an integral part of SafetyWing, operates as a think tank dedicated to advancing global mobility rights. It's a platform where research, policy, products, and ideas converge to level the playing field for individuals across borders. Plumia's mission is clear: to use the power of information and innovation to dismantle the barriers that have long restricted the freedom of movement for many. #GlobalMobility#Innovation
The Plumia project represents a new era in thinking about citizenship. It acknowledges that the place of one's birth should not limit their potential or opportunities. In a world where information travels at the speed of light and remote work knows no geographical bounds, it's only fair that individuals can choose where they live and work based on personal preferences and career aspirations. #FreedomOfMovement#GlobalCitizenship
Creating Equal Opportunity Across Borders 🌍🌟
At its core, SafetyWing is about creating equal opportunity among the citizens of different countries. It recognizes the potential of the internet and remote work to remove outdated barriers to free movement. It believes that people should enjoy the freedom to live and work anywhere, irrespective of the coincidence of their birthplace or heritage. #EqualOpportunity#FreedomOfWorkVISXASafetyWingPlumiaMohamed Aboshanabhttps://lnkd.in/deXpx29r

May is EU Diversity Month, yet many are unaware of it, even within the DEI field. This just shows the need to amplify its significance as an important month. EU Diversity Month is crucial for promoting legislation that encourages companies to create fair and inclusive workplaces.
Since we are also approaching the European Parliament elections, this is a perfect time to challenge you:
What European values do you stand for and would like to see more of in the European Parliament?
There's a new online tool to guide you at the polls, helping you find parties that align with your views on key issues like climate change, immigration, and more. Check it out at euandi.eu.
The EU often doesn't reflect the diverse backgrounds of its citizens. This is why I introduce my monthly SHEroes—women working tirelessly to make Europe more inclusive. Use your vote to find representatives who support issues and policies important to you and help shape a more diverse and inclusive Europe.
Make your voice heard this #EUelections 🇪🇺 Visit euandi.eu to find which party best matches your views.
What do you care about in the EU? What should the EU do to rebuild trust? What's more important: immigration, AI, the environment, or jobs?
