📌 EVENT | 3D prints & biomaterials in the health sector 🔝 Yesterday, Asphalion experts Oriol Penon, PhD and Fran Rodríguez Gómez attended an exciting event in #Barcelona that showcased the latest advancements in #3DPrint and #Biomaterials in the #HealthSector organised by Xartec Salut and XaRFA. ↪ During the event, various developments in #medicaltechnology based on #3Dprinting techniques and #biomaterials were explained. Shape-memory polymer (SMP) materials were created by copolymerizing methacrylates with 2-ethylhexyl plasticizing group (EHMA) and photoactive coumarin unit (CoumMA). The photo-dimerization of coumarin units enabled crosslinking in P(EHMA-co-CoumMA), facilitating the stereolithographic fabrication of well-defined butterfly structures. The study highlighted the impact of dye ratio on optical and mechanical properties of transparent films, emphasizing the potential of coumarin-bearing photoprintable polymers for advanced 4D printing applications.
