United States Department of Defense’s Post

Earlier this week, President Joe Biden granted clemency to about 2,000 U.S. veterans convicted of engaging in sexual acts that, under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, were considered an offense from 1951-2013. My father retired Sgt. Maj. E9 USMC. In his final days he counciled young men about leaving the Corps for their personal (physical) safety (due to threats of violence) or stay, knowing well what they would need to endure, keep secret, and risk being blackmailed and discharged for. You should make a clear statement and clarification about what this is for.

This does not erase a Dishonorable Discharge or cover actions off base ("acts that occurred at a location where intimate activity was prohibited").

If you don't have the freedom to love, then you don't have freedom. The only time that the Army should intervene in intimate matters are in cases of nonconsensual acts of harassment, assault, or quid-pro-quo. Anything else is a violation of constitutional and human rights. Government has no place in the bedroom.
