Record keeping can be a challenge for many veterans and their families. Our partner, The Association for Military Banks of America (AMBA) knew that a resource was needed to help with document organization. Fashioned after a “NEO Kit” (kits required of military families living in high-risk locations), MILDOCS is a financial preparedness tool kit that is intended to provide families assistance in organizing and storing their most important documents. The toolkit is set up so that you can access a checklist for each category of life – identification, personal financials, personal property, real property, vehicles, insurance, medical & dental records, legal documents, school records, and even pet information. Each checklist has a detailed list of what documents go in each category. https://lnkd.in/gSgBupRP Ok - I can appreciate we need to look forward but there is always a base commander, who has a duty to their fellow Marines to maintain proper health and welfare standards. Maybe those base commanders did register the housing shortfalls- and maybe someone in G8 and the Building decided their MILCON budgets were better used to build extra special hangars OCONUS for delicate systems easily damaged during actual combat operations... Marines in CAMPEN were dealing with mold in their housing in the 90's...it didn't get better as the years rolled on... I have faith CMC will do what he can now with the limited budget provided, which frankly isn't enough to properly support the USMC as it struggles with the 5P's, given the current global wars which will continue to escalate. What we can do is support and shape the appropriate leaders to put our Nation first, and ALWAYS Fight to Win with extreme speed and violence.

Derrick Van Orden (R-Wis.) for Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough to resign from his post are reigniting scrutiny of the scandal-ridden department. Egregious backlogs in veteran claims and a confusing bureaucratic process have left many of our nation’s heroes empty-handed and unable to access their hard-won benefits. Rather than allowing our veterans to tap help from the private sector, a cadre of lawmakers are working to limit the resources available to them. Federal efforts to pass the GUARD Act and prevent private companies from helping veterans access the benefits they’ve earned through their service to our country are at best misguided, and at worst ill-intentioned. While ostensibly driven by concerns about protecting veterans from exploitation by for-profit companies, these efforts are hurting veterans’ ability to navigate the complex and often overwhelming process of filing VA claims.
