According to 2022-2023 Annual Statistics released on 26th September - In the poultry industry, West Bengal is leading. Not only does it lead the nation in egg production, with the highest growth rate, but it also claims a strong second place in meat production, contributing to 12% of the national total. Bengal's dairy is also leading followed by Karnataka. These impressive achievements can be partially attributed to a 2017 government initiative offering 80 lakhs in incentives, considered one of the best programs of its kind. Pashudhan Jagruti Abhiyan : Empowering farmers, enriching livestock The infertility camp and awareness program, conducted at Jharabari, Udalguri, Assam, was organized by The College of Veterinary Science, Assam Agricultural University, located in Khanapara, in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Udalguri, and the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Government of Assam. This initiative was part of the #PashudhanJagrutiAbhiyan by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India. Animals were treated for #infertility , dung was examined for #parasites , and medicines, #vitamins , and #minerals mixtures were distributed among the farmers to support animal health and productivity #pashudhan #livestock #pashupalak.

Livestock Farmers in Bangladesh often live in rural areas distant from animal care, with the scarcity of registered vets and primarilly dependant on local livestock service providers for animal health solutions. USAID Livestock Activity partner mPower Social has developed the “Televet” solution to resolve this disassociation between livestock farmers, Livestock Service Providers and licensed veterinarians, connecting them all online, offering a solid platform for 15,000 digital application users. This momentum must continue engaging more vets and LSPs. Over the last months, orientation events have been conducted, with numerous private veterinary practitioners, to acquaint these practitioners with the 'televet' concept and provide a detailed breakdown of payment methods and various incentives. The aim was to recruit potential new associate vets and expanding the services to more remote areas. The Private Vet Associations expressed their enthusiasm for the platform, indicating a promising influx of both LSPs and private vets onto the app. The app hotline receives sincere thanks from these farmers claiming that televet concept has helped them take better care of their animals through schedule maintenance notifications. Also consultations that don’t require them to transport large livestock, access to healthcare, vaccination record keeping and others.
