Some children in foster care need extra support and an especially caring and nurturing environment. That's why the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services implemented a five-year pilot of a Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC), which is provided by #FosterCare parents with specialized training in evidence-based models. They asked Chapin Hall to evaluate the pilot, and we found children generally benefitted from this program. We also found TFC could be a viable, cost-beneficial, community-based alternative to residential care. Explore top level findings and four in-depth studies that went into this comprehensive evaluation: https://lnkd.in/gehZn--5. #ChildWellbeing #TherapeuticFosterCare #ChildWelfare

Most youth aging out of foster care do not have their drivers license. This is a crucial step in being an independent adult and why we make it a priority to our former foster youth to achieve their license. Consider financially partnering with us today to make this a reality for more of our youth. #fosteryouth #formerfosteryouth #driverslicense #fostercare #agedout #agedoutoffostercare #tennessee #middletn #middletennessee https://lnkd.in/d-ugs5Ab

November is #NationalAdoptionMonth. According to childwelfare.gov, over 100,000 #children were waiting to be adopted who were at #risk of aging out of foster care without a permanent family connection. 22% of them were between the ages of 13 & 17. Teens in foster care wait longer & are at higher risk of not securing lifelong connections. Find out how we assist aged-out foster youth to transition into adulthood safely & successfully at rootsandwingsnj.org.
