I just came back from a field trip to North-Sumatera to visit two mini-hydroelectric power plants. One with a capacity of 2 x 4 MW (serving 44.000 households) and a second one with a capacity of 3 MW (still under construction). Both are financed by Indonesia Infrastructure Finance who is a leader on ESG and strongly committed to foster the green energy transition in Indonesia. This is also a key strategic goal for DEG and as a founding shareholder of IIF we are very much committed to support them in this. The management team around the CEO Dr Reynaldi Hermansjah did a great job in positioning IIF as an ESG champion in Indonesia. For me as a commissioner of IIF, visiting the plants was an impressive illustration for the innovative and transformative character of IIF‘s investments in Indonesia. Also thank you very much to my fellow commissioners Lodewijk Govaerts, Supriya Sen, Rinaldi Firmansyah, CFA abd Yuji Fukuda for the fruitful discussions in the context. #RenewableEnergy #IndonesiaEnergy #IndonesiaInfrastructure #GreenFinancing

Thank you, Pak Marc for your time and the opportunity to visit our funded project in Dolok Sanggul. We hope you enjoyed your travel time in Sumatra 😀 🙏
Interesting! Looking forward if we can collaborate for future mini hydro projects such as coinvesting, cofinancing and technology support!
Pak Marc, thank you for the opportunity to visit two projects that we financed in the renewable sector, hopefully at the same time you enjoyed the natural beauty of Northern Sumatra.

5dWas such a pleasure to spend time with you and other commissioners and directors on this field trip, joining IIF inspection of one of their pioneering projects. As we went bouncing along on the hilly approach roads to these remote projects, the rich foliage and scenery around us was complemented by the interesting conversations and the smiling people, which gave a nuanced understanding of conditions in this beautiful country - an experience uniquely unforgettable and inspiring beyond words.
