Ukraine Targeted in Cyberattack Exploiting 7-Year-Old Microsoft Office Flaw Cybersecurity researchers have uncovered a cyberattack targeting Ukraine that exploits a 7-year-old Microsoft Office vulnerability (CVE-2017-8570) to deliver the Cobalt Strike payload. The attack begins with a malicious PowerPoint file masquerading as a U.S. Army manual. It then loads a remote script that launches an HTML file, which establishes persistence and drops a payload impersonating the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client. The payload injects a Cobalt Strike Beacon into memory and connects to a command-and-control server. The attack appears aimed at military personnel but uses deceptive domain names. #CyberAttack #Ukraine #Microsoft #vulnerability

I just saw a post about Aaron Bushnell, claiming he had access to classified information about American troops on the ground in Gaza fighting in the Tunnels. This was from someone with an obvious pro-Palestinian position. Please, don't do that. It will just muddy the waters and damage his image as much as the other side is trying to use claims about mental health to change the subject. Please, LinkedIn people, use your brain. * He was an enlisted man in the Air Force, not an officer. This is what I was able to find with the descriptions of him online: https://lnkd.in/gQmUqC3b * His profile on LinkedIn lists him as working on DevOps * If American troops are on the ground in Gaza, it would be either Amry or Navy special operators, not from the Air Force. Why should someone so low in the chain of command, working on the tools to build software, have knowledge or access to information about special operations from a different military branch? This is a professional network. Think before you share.

Sr. Technical Recruiter | Recruit security-cleared engineers & scientists | Enthusiastic people-person with a mutant curiosity gene
When you hold a security clearance of any type, it's vital that you understand the nuances of it. Know what type of clearance it is - secret, top secret, L, Q, or public trust, for instance. Understand how your clearance may be transferred to another clearance. For example, if you hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret (TS) clearance, the Department of Energy (DOE) equivalency is a Q clearance. You can apply for DOE roles that require a Q because your TS could be transferred to a Q through a security process called reciprocity. Know your clearance status and leverage it as you look for other work. #clearances #clearedwork #securityclearance #jobsearchtip
