Welcome back teaching staff returning from the half term break today! We hope you are well rested ready for the final summer term ☀ Below is a message from our Director of Marketing and Student Recruitment here at University around offers deadline: "Students holding UCAS offers this week have until 6th June Thursday to make their Firm choices (and Insurance too if they wish). The 6th June is DBD - decline by default - if you do not make a choice you are declined by all your offers automatically via UCAS and it's stressful and clunky to get back into the system. Having a conditional/unconditional offer in the bag going into the final 2-3 weeks of exams and assessments is a good idea - if and when they are happy with one of more of the offers they have. A firm choice also triggers useful things like accommodation guarantees (eg here at Northampton Uni our initial guarantee date is 10th June next week), accepters comms, reading lists, prep material and might also reduce the amount of marketing stuff they get from other Unis and orgs! I keep saying this because it's important - and the number of students (including 18-19 year old level 3 students) declining all offers on DBD has increased as a % since 2019 - partly in my view because the 6th June date is not ideal right in the middle of exams for so many - some BIG subjects this week - I have a son in Y13 so I should know! Students who still wish to release from their firm choice can do so via the self release system on UCAS.com in August." Scholarship tip: Read our information and guidance notes. Each year, we publish information and guidance notes for candidates for our Scholarship and Bursary programmes. These set out what courses our funding can be used for, our eligibility criteria for that year and our assessment processes. These documents are essential reading for anyone considering making an application. You will know from the outset whether you will pass our first stage eligibility assessment, and can concentrate on making a strong case for funding. (Here's a bonus tip within a tip - if you read our Scholarship guide and don't think you fit our eligibility criteria as you've already started your studies, then give our Bursary guide a read to see if that's a better fit. Still unsure? Email us at [email protected] to discuss) #scholarship #bursary #legaleducation #cilex #CPQ
