Institutional capital does not (yet) have the capacity to allocate capital effectively outside of the major coastal cities. Even institutions outside the coasts (like state pension funds and college endowments) ship off capital to the coasts to the detriment of themselves and the economic development of their own communities. That's why it's up to us as individuals to come together and pool our capital to invest in our own communities, providing the seed capital to eventually attract larger pools of capital. Another big Diversity VC launch last week 🚀 Thursday marked our first ever Members’ community roundtable. We gathered our member funds together for a conversation about the challenges we’re facing in making VC fairer. The topics were challenging, but crucial in our journey to creating a more diverse landscape.
