Thank you Governor Inslee and the WA legislature for leading the charge on something truly groundbreaking. With HB1924 now signed into law, WA is setting the stage for a revolution in how we think about and utilize clean energy. This is big news: we’re talking about making WA state the launching pad for commercial fusion energy. The bill kicks off a coordinated effort to figure out all the nuts and bolts needed for fusion energy to take off, from licensing to building out the supply chain. Basically, WA is getting ready to show the world how fusion energy can be done. What’s really cool here is that WA isn’t just getting ahead in the clean energy game. By taking a serious step towards hosting the first demonstration of fusion energy, they are also opening up incredible opportunities for the local economy and setting a global example. Thanks to this move, WA isn’t just going to be known for being first in fusion by name. They are laying down the groundwork to lead in the global fusion energy market.

Benjamin Byboth, CFS’ Senior Manager of Business Development and Strategy, knows more about putting fusion power on the grid than just about anybody. Speaking at FUSION24 today in London, he showed how our ARC fusion power plants stand to dramatically reduce the investment needed to decarbonize energy. Here’s the deal: • Fusion offers a “firm” energy supply customers can count on when they need it. • That firm power complements zero-carbon but variable wind and solar power. • Firm power like fusion can vastly cut the money governments, businesses, and consumers otherwise would have to spend to shift to zero-carbon power. • We think fusion power will be competitively priced even without factoring in firmness. With it, fusion looks even better. We’re building our SPARC tokamak right now to demonstrate net fusion energy. We expect its successor, ARC, will start putting watts on the grid in the early 2030s. #FUSION2024 #FusionEnergy

It was encouraging to read this week's news about the significant strides being taken in the UK's green energy sector: 🟢 A record number of UK households installed solar panels and heat pumps in the first half of the year. 🟢 Over 17,000 households added solar panels monthly, with heat pump installations reaching a milestone of 3,000 per month. 🟢 Each month of 2023 saw growth in battery technology installations. 🟢 The UK's small-scale renewable energy installations now boast a combined capacity of 4GW, surpassing the nuclear plant under construction at Hinkley Point. The rise in solar and heat pump installations shows increasing consumer confidence in green technologies. But to fully realise this potential and meet our net-zero ambitions, more needs to be done. From boosting qualified installer numbers to ensuring the affordability of low-carbon solutions, every step counts toward a sustainable future. #GreenCapacity #UKNetZero #SustainableFuture
