If we are freaked out by the occasional power outage due to air-conditioning electricity consumption, we may be even worse off as more households transition to an all-electric future, David Henderson writes in a blog at https://lnkd.in/gXdmi-vP. “When the power goes out in the summer, most people are simply inconvenienced,” he states. “When the power goes out in winter, it’s a different – potentially deadly story.” #GreenEnergy #renewableenergy

Loadshedding can be ended by privatisation and adding other players into the energy sector. Expecting consumers to account for your own incompetence is reaching, especially considering the high prices of electricity (which you have applied for an increment for again). Eskom retaining its monopoly on electricity production and distribution is bad for the future of the country. It’s a monopoly that has been beneficial to corrupt politicians and their cronies at the expense of the general public.
