As the era of cloud computing continues to grow, many companies are still investing in their own hardware and software. Industrial companies, in particular, find on-premises computing advantageous due to data proximity, real-time analysis needs, data sovereignty concerns, and regulatory requirements. While public cloud services are gaining popularity, many firms continue to rely on in-house data centers. A hybrid approach of utilizing both in-house data centers and public cloud services is becoming increasingly common. Companies have different options to consider, including building their own facilities, renting servers, or leasing space in data centers owned by others. Cost considerations and evolving trends in cloud infrastructure are important factors affecting the decision-making process. While cloud giants are making strides to address concerns about data transfer times and access, many large firms are likely to maintain a hybrid approach rather than fully transitioning to the cloud Learn more about the relevance of in-house data centers by reading the full article in The Economist. https://lnkd.in/eDWnRGGr #CloudComputing #DataCenters #HybridApproach #VMware #edgecomputing #privatecloud #publiccloud
