Exceptional Sales and Delivery Lead | 18 years Salesforce experience | Ex-IBM | D&I Strategist & Dynamic Keynote Speaker | Invested Entrepreneur | 'Excellent' Rated Impact Maker
I just presented to 270 (mainly) neurodivergent university students who are all about to enter the big tech workforce. 📢 "What if they don't believe me, will they just think I'm lazy?" 📢 "Do I have to disclose I'm ADHD, what if they find out afterwards, will I get fired?" 📢 "Will I always be in a low paid job?" 📢 "If I tell a recruiter I'm dyslexic will they just put my CV to the bottom of the pile?" 👨💻 50% of GenZ identify as neurodivergent - if this is the experience and concerns of those entering work in 2024, we are still a long, long way behind true neuro-inclusive environments. 🤞 It's no longer a subject we can sweep on the carpet, it's now a societal imperative and will hold the key to the future stability and growth of your company. Thanks to HyperionDev and Enna Neurodiversity Recruitment and Training.

Work in I-O Psychology is gaining popularity, but it isn't an easily recognized career like a doctor, lawyer, or police officer. There are a wide variety of potential careers that someone with an education in I-O Psychology could work in, such as working on selection or hiring systems, performance evaluations, training and development, data analytics, and many other areas. Most I-O Psychology work is going to coincide with the Human Resources function. - Source: PsychLearningCurve.org #psychology #iopsychology #workplacepsychology #hr #humanresources #masters #usa

However, one general distinction between competency frameworks and selection criteria is that competency frameworks often call for much greater numbers of criteria than which may be allowed for an individual job. Don't buy into the myth that your PhD, EdD, PharmD, or other doctoral degree isn't valuable in today's job market. These degrees required you to go beyond mastering a field to adding to a field. This makes you a creator of information, an innovator. There is nothing more valuable than this in today's world of generative AI and fast changing tech. Make sure you're leveraging your degree in your job search. #phd #phds #postdoc #postdocs #phdlife #phdchat #phdjobs #phdcareers #phdstudents #phdstudent #jobsearch #careerdevelopment #careers #resumes #negotiating #gethired #jobtips

A while back a recruiter kept telling me that my personality type must be C - compliant. I asked why. She said, “because you do math.” She was unaware of what mathematicians do. People who know me for long know that I challenge status quo every single turn there is. Where there is no solution, I create one. Where there is no question, I create one - and answer it. When there was no solution to x^2 1=0, mathematicians created the imaginary number. To answer Fermat’s Last Theorem, mathematicians created a whole new field of elegant mathematics. When people was trying to be lazy and write a program to solve all mathematical problems, mathematicians proved that no such program can be written. When there was no need for further problems to be solved, I created a set of new questions and answered them before submitting my PhD thesis. Mathematicians are not mere rule followers. We break conventional rules and add value to the market—with full rigor, with a logic that is foolproof. Consider hiring a mathematician in your industry; you may discover cash cows you never knew existed. We are creative problem solvers.

Neurodiversity @ Work | Keynote/TEDx Speaker | Consultant | Trainer | ADHD, Dyslexia, Sensory Processing Disorder Etc.
❌ "Neurodivergent people have very particular interests / skill sets." ❌ "Running late all of the time is an ADHD thing." ❌ "Autistic people are great at tech jobs." ❌ "Design and engineering come naturally to Dyslexic thinkers." ❌ "ND jobseekers aren't good at interviews." I see these general statements from those in the ND self-advocacy community as well as the business world, and I do think it's well-meaning. ND Self-Advocates are communicating their own experiences and making others feel seen and understood. On a case-by-case basis, those reflections resonate, and that's great. The business world is playing catch up, learning and dipping their toes into a new, exciting concept. They don't know what they don't know, and all of us hold preconceived notions about the unfamiliar, fueled by what we've been exposed to thus far. Let's word things in ways that don't describe huge populations of people in such rigid ways. Small changes in the words we use can make the difference between communicating something others may learn from or identify with, vs. people taking a seemingly concrete but inaccurate narrative and looking at people who carry certain labels as easily-explained caricatures. #Neurodiversity #NeurodiversityAtWork #NDVoices #NeurodiversityEmployment #ThinkDifferently
