GAME stopping trade-ins? That's an interesting move that I didn't see coming, given second hand sales are pure profit (minus storage and associated costs). Over time, more shelf space has been dedicated to broader geek culture merch and stores have been closed and folded into Sports Direct/House of Fraser, none of which is surprising given the state of high street retail, but I wouldn't have guessed the latest development. It'll be interesting to see what knock-on effect this will have on boxed sales of new games, as with the cost of living issues, trade-ins have likely been a helpful source for people to get their most-wanted titles early on, when the hype is at its peak. The next "big global IP" is decades old. According to Amazon, 60% of the audience for the Fallout TV show are outside the United States, in particular, France and Brazil. Intellectual Properties (IPs) that have worldwide recognition play a pivotal role in the gaming industry, impacting a game's success, brand visibility, and revenue. With the revitalization of the Fallout brand from the show, regions on the planet that were not aware of the IP is now seeking out and playing Fallout games, many which were released years ago. They became established fans of the IP after watching the show, which then translated over to game sales and engagement. I believe in Amazon Games 1M player strategy. Why? Because it is working, and growing. Question is can they keep it? Amazon Games, founded in 2012, evolves rapidly in both publishing and development. Their journey shows lessons on leveraging Data and market networks effectively. Which is ‘’CRUCIAL’’ for any game publisher! Their major development, "New World" (2021), showcased their capability in managing large-scale online games, peaking almost 1 Million Concurrent Players! - This is a BIG number. They kept using the ‘’know how’’ to publish "Lost Ark" (2022), in the same genre, Increased this number by 30% ! This number literally highlights their strength in bringing established games to new audiences.
