Interview given by Ambassador Musneci at VIA CLUJ TV https://lnkd.in/d_YGxK7K The Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta is one of the most noble and prestigious organisations in the world. For almost a millennium, the Order created in the Holy Land has been putting into practice the mission established by its founder, Blessed Gerard, says the Order’s Ambassador to Romania, His Excellency Roberto Musneci. The Sovereign Order of Malta has been present in Romania since the Crusades. It was attested by the Diploma of the Knights of Joan, granted on 2 June 1247 by King Bela IV of Hungary. The Order distinguished itself through charitable missions, such as the establishment of the first hospital in this territory, in Oradea, but also through the defence of Christianity. Official relations between the Sovereign Order of Malta and Romania were established in the modern period, in 1932, during the reign of King Charles II. These relations were suspended during the communist period and resumed in 1991. Currently, the Order is represented in Romania by three structures. The first is the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta, based in Bucharest. The second structure is the Romanian Association of the Order of Malta, headed by Count Kálnoky Tibor, which brings together the Knights of Malta active in Romania. The third structure is the Order of Malta Relief Service in Romania, which has more than 1,000 volunteers in 18 branches and subsidiaries. These structures are the only ones that give concrete expression to the presence of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Romania, but there is also the phenomenon of false/phantom organisations, which claim to be representatives of the Order, but which have no recognition whatsoever from the Order’s government. These self-style organisations are simply associations of individuals who sometimes trade dubiously in false diplomas and titles.

FULL LIST: OLUBADAN WITH THE SHORTEST REIGNS By Okiki Adeduyite̩ The Olubadan of Ibadanland, O̩ba Lekan Balogun, Alli Iwo Okunmade II, died on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the age of 81. His remains had been interred according to Islamic rites today, Friday, March 15, 2024, in Ibadan, the O̩yo̩ State capital. The Olubadan title has always been alternated between the Olubadan line (civil line) and the Balogun line (military line). The late O̩ba Balogun reigned for two years. O̩ba Balogun’s reign is, however, not the shortest. Here is a compilation of Olubadans who had the shortest reign, as reported on the Olubadan website, Olubadan.com: One month: Olubadan Oyetunde I E̩le̩ta Area reigned for just one month, from November 1946 to December 1946. Three months: Olubadan Memudu Alli Iwo Alli Iwo Area reigned for three months in 1942. Six months: Also in 1946, Olubadan Fagbinrin Akere II Oritame̩rin Area reigned for six months. Six months: O̩ba Yesufu Kobiowu O̩ranyan Area ruled for six months. One year: Baale̩ O̩de̩rinlo̩ O̩pe̩agbe Idio̩mo̩/Kure reigned for one year between 1850 and 1851. One year: Ba’ale̩ Ibikunle reigned between 1864 and 1865 for one year. One year: Baale̩ Orowusi (Awarun) Kobo̩mo̩je̩ Area reigned between 1870 and 1871 for one year. One year: Olubadan Akintunde Bioku O̩le̩yo̩, Oranyan Area, reigned between 1947 and 1948 for one year. One year: O̩ba Gbadamo̩si Akanbi Adebimpe Odinjo reigned between 1976 and 1977 for one year. Two years: Bas̩o̩run Ogumo̩la Mapo Area reigned between 1865 and 1867 for two years. The longest-serving Olubadan is Olubadan Okuno̩la Abaasi Ales̩inlo̩ye Isale̩ Ije̩bu Area. He ruled for 16 years, between 1930 - 1946
