One of the great projects I get to manage.
Funded with a $5.14 million state grant, I’m glad to see this project beginning soon. Residents in the Heather Lane/Lockwood Lane area in Norwalk will finally see some relief.
Great job Norwalk and Dan!!

Great initiative! Thanks for sharing. This will go a long way to upgrade many shore areas. But it’s still a competition to provide only so much funding leaving some areas out in the cold. NJ, along with all States, need to think about doing ALL infrastructure projects. HR 4052 for the creation of the Nation’s fifth National Infrastructure Bank. This huge banking platform will fund all of America’s infrastructure projects w/o creating more debt or more taxes. Not only that but millions of folks would be trained & put in the workforce that will create economic growth. Think about it - nibcoalition…#nationalinfrastructurebank
Yesterday, the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey (CCSNJ) gave remarks along side of Governor Phil Murphy, Assembly Majority Leader Louis D. Greenwald, Senator Vince Polistina and Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small at the $100 million "Boardwalk Preservation Fund" bill signing. This initiative, which was included as part of the final FY2024 state budget, is a grant program administered by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs that aims to make critical investments in boardwalk infrastructure at the Jersey Shore. It also served as a moment to reflect and honor the late Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver, who led the Atlantic City Restart and Recovery Working Group. The CCSNJ served as Vice Chair of the Group, whose top recommendation was a greater state investment in the City’s boardwalk. Although the press conference was held in Atlantic City, the $100 million allocation will be spread to boardwalk projects across the state’s shoreline. The application period is officially open for the Boardwalk Preservation Program - more details can be found here: https://lnkd.in/gk_mmUhw

Excellent campaign well done to all involved.
In consultation with Greening the West, Moonee Valley City Council is proud to announce the launch of the One, Two, Tree campaign🌳 The campaign encourages the community to plant trees on private properties to help achieve the city’s canopy cover target of 30% by 2040. A series of videos will be released on social media over the next few months, promoting the benefits of trees, giving examples of trees residents can plant in different sized backyards, and showing residents how to plant a tree. One, Two, Tree was funded by a $140,000 grant from the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions. The Victorian Government’s Metropolitan Partnerships Development Fund (MPDF) supports the Metropolitan Partnerships to act on local priorities, informs the Metropolitan Partnerships’ advice to government and supports Melbourne’s social and economic recovery. This project was funded under the MPDF to address and support the priorities of the Western Metropolitan Partnership.

National AmeriCorps just completed studies to measure the impact our programs have on communities and people. The results? Every dollar invested in AmeriCorps returns triple - and in some cases - tenfold returns to our communities. The approximate return on investment varies for each program, but all highlight the value and impact of our programs on our community. Check out the results of the study. Alta's Spencer Finch joined the Transportation Equity Caucus in an early August webinar to discuss the U.S. Department of Transportation's Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods (RCN) federal grant program. The webinar roundtable provided easy to understand guidance in more accessible language, so that disadvantaged communities across the U.S. can better tap this once-in-a-lifetime funding opportunity. The panel covered how to identify eligible transportation projects, how the program can fund structural change (and not "just another infrastructure project"), how to successfully apply for an RCP grant, and how to factor affordable housing, anti-gentrification and anti-discrimination measures into grant applications. Grant applications have been streamlined, and are due Sept 28. Learn more about the RCN grant program here:

Speaking from the perspective of someone directly engaged on a day-to-day basis over how to flatten the curve of skyrocketing insurance premiums in catastrophe-prone states, fortified home programs such as this one in Louisiana are vital. I highly recommend suggesting to family and friends who are in need of risk hardening for whatever reason to take advantage of this program. I guided my in-laws through Florida’s sister program earlier in 2023 to great success. An absolute coup for homeowners with roofs and opening protection in need of upgrades. You will save money on home upgrades you will have to complete at some point regardless as well as on insurance premiums. You will also have the peace of mind when the wind blows next. And rest assured, the wind will blow again.. #deftgroup #insurance #riskmanagement
The Louisiana Fortify Homes Program will open its third round of grants at noon on November 6. The 750 available grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. https://ow.ly/oLZn50Q3gkA
