🌴 With SailGP in Bermuda, it was only fitting to invite Bermudian Olympic gold medalist, Flora Duffy, sponsored by Apex Group, to get in on the action. 🏅💥 As she was out competing ahead of the Olympics, in her place she put forward some of the aspiring Bermudian athletes who have benefitted from The Flora Fund. This group of young athletes experienced some one-on-one time with the pro-athletes of SailGP and exclusive behind the scenes access.      🌊 𝗨𝗽-𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻     Following an intro by Thomas Herbert-Evans, the man behind the SailGP Inspire program, they watched a SailGP boat being craned out of the water after a dramatic capsize. Tom then explained how the F50 catamarans are built and made ready for the world’s most sustainable racing event. 🌱     🏆 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗚𝗣 𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲     They took a close look at the Germany SailGP Team F50 to learn about the technology powering these outstanding machines and how they’re operated during racing.      The highlight was a Q&A with France SailGP Team driver Quentin Delapierre, who explained exactly what it takes to fulfil the dream of becoming a professional athlete.      The team then met Nick Hutton of Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team who gave them invaluable advice on how young athletes can give themselves the best chance for success in their chosen field.       📊 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀      Modern sport isn’t just physical, it’s also highly technical, so a visit to the Oracle data station provided insight into how millions of data points are collected and analysed both on and off the water to make the split-second decisions that alter the course of a race.      A pit-stop at the United States SailGP Team tent showed the how the configuration of the F50 can be changed for optimum performance depending on weather conditions.      👋 Before they left, the tour ended with a close-up look at how the F50 is constructed and some spectacular tales of the successes - and crashes - the sport has seen over the years.      This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that will assist with setting these aspiring athletes up for success in their future careers. How often do you try your skills in active sports? We've had our chance last weekend. The FSG team went skiing and snowboarding at Protasiv Yar! Gathered our fantastic team for an exhilarating getaway. For many of us, it was a first-time experience, but the instructors made sure we didn't hurt ourselves.
