Lapata Ladies…. A movie that lends its voice to showcase the struggle of a woman to surge beyond gender stereotypes and patriarchy. This film beautifully depicts so many lapatas (missing aspects). The lapata opportunities for women to dream big, the lapata right to know think and do what you like “because you are worth it” and lapata resolve to stand by other women who have the skill and will to stand tall, and one can go on forever. This movie also taps into the need for women to be allies to other women, whether it is Manju Mai who has been there and done it all, Jaya whose privilege lies in her ability and courage to think beyond conventional norms set for her, or Yashoda who asks her mother-in-law, “Kya hum friend ban sakte hai? (Can we become friends). While Allyship is about influencing men in power positions to work towards gender inclusion, let us also empower ourselves to become better allies of other women to get the lapata women in boardrooms, Leadership roles, shop floors, workforce, STEM courses, and the world of work at large. #Inclusion #Genderinclusion #Allyship #InclusiveLeadership #Women

Happy International Women's Day - from our Peaple team <3 #inspireinclusion is the 2024 theme, and for our Peaple team connection and strategy session today, we decided to symbolise this as Peas in Pods. Everyone belongs, we're all peas in this pod together. Personally, this day is important to me for two key reasons: 1. I like to be reminded to share my appreciation and gratitude to women who inspire me, and who have created opportunities that historically did not exist for women. And men / others too - for showing up in a way that acknowledges that the context I'm in is not always set up for me to be my best and take action to change that for me and other women. 2. It's a reminder that our experiences aren't the same simply because of who we are. It challenges me to continuously check myself on this. When I have an influence on someone's experience in the workplace, how can I best set them up for success, to bring their full magic, without unnecessary barriers. Then we all win.
