We're thrilled to kick off #D2LFusion 2024 with insightful discussions led by our leadership team and industry leaders at the Executive Summit. John Baker, CEO and Founder of D2L, and Jeremy Auger, Chief Strategy Officer, opened the summit by highlighting the major trends reshaping the future of work and learning. They delved into critical discussions around leveraging #AI in education, addressing questions such as: How do we deal with potential risks? How does AI change the way we deliver learning? What is the impact on course design and curriculum? What opportunities does it hold for increasing skills development? ✨ Following this, we had an inspiring keynote by David Autor. David addressed a pivotal question: Will #AI advancements complement human expertise or diminish its necessity? He framed this discussion through the lenses of the Industrial, Computer, and AI Revolutions, highlighting the evolution of expertise and the unique opportunities and risks AI presents for the labor market. Autor emphasized that the future is a collective creation, not a preordained fate. While AI could enable workers with complementary skills to perform more expert tasks, not all tools will augment the value of human expertise. The peril of AI lies in its potential to commodify expertise. Stay tuned for more updates and join us in shaping the future of skills and education. #D2LFusion #FutureOfLearning
