📢 A Guide to Future-Oriented Skills Skills in Demand to Watch in the Next 10 Years Well , Everyone Knows it .. Digital and AI-powered technologies are reshaping the workforce, driving the need for new in-demand skills and adaptability to future jobs. 🌍 According to the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report, 50% of all employees will need to reskill by 2025 as technology adoption accelerates. Let that sink in: HALF of your workforce will require entirely new skills to navigate the digital shift and remain employable. 💡 Why is this important ? As technology becomes more pervasive, skill gaps will widen across industries. Even employees who remain in their current roles will see a significant shift in the core skills required. Therefore, both companies and employees must prepare for the future by fostering a mindset of continuous learning and skill development. 💡 What's noteworthy? While digital and tech-related skills are crucial, the future workforce will also rely heavily on critical thinking, problem-solving, resilience, active learning, and interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. 💡What's next for you? Armed with these insights, here's how you can embrace future-oriented skills: 1. Make skills transparent within your organization. Conduct a skills audit to understand your company's readiness for the future. 2. Identify skill gaps and future skill requirements. Design learning pathways for employees to acquire in-demand skills. 3. Facilitate access to knowledge and career development opportunities within your organization. 4. Enable skill transformation within your organization starting today. Embrace the future by investing in your workforce's skills today! 🚀 Bottomline - Investing in future-oriented skills is not just an option but a necessity in today's rapidly evolving digital landscape. By equipping your workforce with the right skills, you not only future-proof your organization but also empower your employees to thrive in the dynamic world of tomorrow. Embrace the change, foster a culture of continuous learning, and seize the opportunities that lie ahead. The future belongs to those who are prepared. Businesses are reevaluating their approach to hiring and moving away from strict degree prerequisites toward a more nuanced evaluation: skills. That means if you are missing out on learning skills, you are missing out on your career ahead. Rapid tech explosions & the AI boom have made learning the prime mover of career success. In fact, 76% of employers use skills-based hiring to find new talent, with almost 55% using role-specific skills tests. In this shift, organizations are broadening their focus of evaluation to encompass not just formal education but the tangible expertise, adaptability, and continuous learning mindset of candidates. For individuals, this means constant upskilling, & for leaders, this means facilitating upskilling initiatives while personally honing management capabilities. This is how you can continuously upskill yourself in 2024: ➡️ Mind the skills gaps Given the widening gaps between required competencies and current company capabilities, upskilling has also become vital for talent retention. But first, pinpoint precisely which skills are hot in your domain. Tap online networks, mentor brains, career sites, and job boards to spot high-frequency requirements. Then, zero in on those targeted talents. ➡️ Tech skills are not enough Let's face it - employers want candidates who can quickly adapt to the latest and rapid technological advancements. High learning agility, critical thinking, good problem-solving ability, and team collaboration are the new hot skills that employers look for in all job roles. Hiring managers seek those able to boost revenues, align with values, and enhance systems. ➡️ Growth mindset > Fixed mindset Shift your thoughts from "I'm not skilled enough" to "I'm not skilled yet" and watch your upskilling process accelerate. While some learn quickly, others realize greatness through perseverance. Sustain lifelong learning by celebrating progress over perfection. So, candidates should demonstrate the same hunger for growth that is already present internally. At Supersourcing, we started skill-based hiring long back. Today, most of our employees are here because of their skills and zeal to learn and work with a growth mindset, not degrees. For businesses, I believe that to evolve and compete in 2024, it will be two-way - some through technology and some through workplace transformation. 💡What are you doing to upskill in 2024? #supersourcing #team #hiring

Skills play a crucial role in workforce readiness, and having the proper skill set can significantly impact an individual’s success in the workplace. Skills are the foundation of workforce readiness. Skills have been described as challenging, hard skills (specific technical or specialized skills), soft skills (workplace readiness skills), and now essential skills (adaptability and performance skills). To do a job effectively, one must have the skills and be able to keep up with new knowledge. But to sustain the job, one must possess essential skills (Communication, Problem-Solving, Teamwork, Integrity, & Work Ethic are the foundational building blocks for teams and more). Human Capital must be the driving force behind any job when coupled with technology. Do Good. #hardskills, #softskills, #essentialskills #humancapital #ai #technology

As 2023 draws to an end, it's crucial to take stock and to actively think about building skills that will drive success in the years ahead. Here are 5 essential skills to start sharpening now for professional growth in 2024 and beyond: 1. Digital Fluency - With technology advancing rapidly, digital fluency is non-negotiable. Stay updated on emerging industry trends and get comfortable with new digital tools to remain competitive. For example, take a short course on LLMs (large language models) to understand the buzz, take an online course in data analytics, or technology tools that are relevant to your activities (e.g. MS Excel and MS Powerpoint). 2. Adaptability - The workplace is changing fast. Developing adaptability will allow you to embrace new challenges, pivot quickly, and thrive in uncertain times. Remain open, flexible, and willing to learn. For instance, volunteer to take on an unfamiliar project or role (think outside the box, this does not have to be attached to your current job). Proactively seek feedback and implement changes. 3. Emotional Intelligence - Success hinges on relationships. Hone your EQ to communicate effectively, empathize, collaborate smoothly, and lead with influence. Understand yourself and connect authentically. Try reading books on mindfulness and emotional intelligence. Roleplay tough workplace scenarios with a peer. 4. Critical Thinking - Information overload is real. Enhance your ability to analyze issues objectively, synthesize data, and make sound decisions. Ask probing questions and approach problems strategically. For example, take a course in logic or strategic thinking. 5. Growth Mindset - Stagnation spells decline. Foster relentless curiosity to keep exploring. Commit to continuous learning and self-development to stay ahead of the curve. Seek out new skills and knowledge. For instance, identify skills gaps and upskill through courses. Read broadly beyond your domain. Welcome and learn from constructive feedback. Additionally, make time for mindfulness and self-care. Try meditating, journaling, or going for walks to manage stress. Set boundaries and prioritize your mental health to sustain energy and focus. The future favours the bold and prepared. Develop these skills now to future-proof your career. Position yourself at the leading edge and bring added value to any industry. The time is now to ready yourself for 2024! #careerdevelopment #lifelonglearning #careergoals
