A new report commissioned by Essex County Council’s Cultural Development team, has revealed that the county’s creative hubs positively impact the growth, innovation and vitality of its creative sector. The report has identified 63 creative hubs in Essex, and found evidence of them providing a positive impact on the sector across the board, enhancing community building, social impact and place-making as well as providing significant economic value. The definition of a creative hub used in the report is, 'a physical or virtual space which brings together enterprising individuals working in the creative and cultural industries'. The report found that there are currently 17 such hubs in #Colchester, 12 in #Southend and 7 in #Chelmsford and that all nurtured creativity, innovation and talent. A further 6 hubs are in development in the #Basildon, #Brentwood, Colchester, #Thurrock and Tendring areas.
