“Cubic Transportation Systems has been a proud partner of the MBTA for several years, and we thank the MBTA for their collaboration throughout this project,” said Peter Torrellas, President of Cubic Transportation Systems. “The upcoming launch of Automated Fare Collection 2.0 system-wide will transform public transportation across Greater Boston and significantly enhance the rider experience. Millions of MBTA riders will soon be able to benefit from increased convenience with this modern, efficient, and user-friendly contactless payment system.”   Starting August 1, 2024, the MBTA will roll out a new contactless payment system, modernizing the mass transit experience and making travel easier for millions of riders in Boston.

This summer, Cubic welcomed 48 talented interns to roles in engineering, human resources, marketing, project and program management, strategy and growth, and IT. These internships offer practical experience that goes far beyond the academic and theoretical, working on cutting-edge projects that directly touch on our products and services. We work with the K-16 Collaborative Border Region Talent Pipeline, the University of California San Diego, San Diego State University, and other schools nationwide to support the development of future innovators.   Welcome, interns! We hope this summer is an incredible journey of learning and growth.
