In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare and current government funding, it's time to shift our perspective from person-centered care to person-led approaches. A person-led approach empowers individuals, putting them firmly in control of their unique journey. Decisions are no longer dictated by providers but are guided by the needs and choices of the person, complemented by the invaluable support of families, carers, clinicians, and service providers. Peer workers, with their shared experiences, become instrumental in modeling and contributing to person-led care. Their empathic and trauma-informed support adds a layer of understanding that resonates with individuals, fostering autonomy and a sense of perspective. The essence lies in redefining person-centered care to become truly person-led. While person-centered care places consumers at the center decisions are often still made by clinicians. Person-led, however, signifies a paradigm shift where consumers actively lead decision-making processes. The term "care and support" is deliberate, acknowledging that individuals and their support networks seek assistance within the fabric of everyday life, not just in clinical environments. Person-led approaches demand a shift in focus for clinicians and services, requiring them to center their efforts on the individual, not the service itself. To embody a person-led approach, we commit to: Respecting the individual's current state, journey, dreams, and goals. Tailoring services and support to align seamlessly with the person's unique needs. Collaborating with individuals, families, and carers to uncover capacities and strengths. #ndis #choiceandcontrol #personability #personled #ability

Invisible-Care’s digital solutions significantly contribute to addressing gaps in accessibility, convenience, and continuous support, improving overall rehabilitation outcomes. Let’s look at how we differ from traditional service support providers: ~ Digital on-demand support: In-person care provides intense, focused care for limited periods of time. This type of care is almost impossible to provide 24/7 to someone outside of a hospital or care facility. Invisible-Care fills this gap by providing access to continuous care and support from 6 am to midnight every day. Additionally, Invisible-Care supports personalized and holistic care plans. ~ Digital supervision and real-time tracking: Traditional remote monitoring and fall detection devices utilize reactive systems that alert healthcare personnel after an incident has occurred. Invisible-Care provides proactive and preventative care by creating routines for each client and keeping detailed records to see when/if their routine is being broken. Falling off a routine is a huge indicator that a crisis may be approaching, and in this case, Invisible-Care support workers can employ crisis aversion tactics. #rehabilitation #rehab #braininjury #concussion #chronicpain #spinalcordinjury #mva #catastrophicinjury #accidentinsurance #claimsmanagement #occupationaltherapy #occupationaltherapist #casemanagement #personalinjury #personalinjurylawyer #homecare #longtermcare #communitycare #communityengagement #seniorcare #mentalhealthsupport #healthtech #attendantcare #personalsupport #psw #occupationaltherapist #casemanager #abi #tbi #dementia #behavioralhealth #ondemandservices #seniorcare #claims #catastrophicinjury #sabs #invisiblecare #assistivetechnology #assistedliving #assistivetech #chooseOT #braininjuryassociation #braininjuryconference #braininjurysurvivors #braininjury #dementia #cognitivehealth #remotemonitoring #telehealth #telemedicine #digitalhealth #mentalhealthsupport #mentalhealth

November is National Home Health Care and Hospice Month where we celebrate the invaluable role that #homehealthcare professionals and caregivers play in providing high quality health care to the people who need it most during the most challenging times of their lives. Home health care services offer an invaluable opportunity for people to take control of their own well-being while remaining in the comfort of their own homes. Home health care providers are dedicated to ensuring that individuals, regardless of age or physical ability, have access to the care they need in order to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. The choice to age in place at home is becoming increasingly popular due to the level of personalization and flexibility it offers. Clients can choose the type of care which best meets their individual needs, from basic assistance with daily living activities to complex medical care needing skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social work and home health aide. Choosing home health also supports families providing informal or shared care, allowing family and friends to remain involved in the care of their loved one. Home health care also allows individuals to remain as independent as possible. With the support of qualified and compassionate #homehealthcareproviders, individuals can enjoy greater freedom of choice and self-determination while remaining in familiar surroundings. At Caruth Staffing Agency, we're proud to recognize and honor the hardworking caregivers and home health care professionals who provide much-needed assistance to individuals in need. Our services help improve quality of life by increasing access to health care services in familiar and comfortable environments. The Covid pandemic showed how our excellent work and commitment to providing high-quality health care services in homes was an essential service during an unprecedented time. The profound contribution made to the lives of countless people by #homehealthnurse #HomeHealthPT #homehealthot #homehealthst #homehealthaide #homehealthsocialworker proved that it is possible to receive quality care at home and save costs. Caregiver recognition drives business outcomes. The data is clear! Check out this video from Christian Alaimo, Caribou's COO, explaining how this virtuous cycle helps drive real operational excellence for home care agencies.
The data is clear. Putting caregivers first is one of the best investments a home care agency can make 📈 Unfortunately, some agencies view this investment as a cost centre without holistically assessing its impact on the entire operation. Over the last few days in New York, I’ve had many conversations about the ROI of recognition and am so excited about the shift that is happening across the industry. As our data set grows, the trend is becoming more clear. The agencies that invest in their caregivers will be most successful long term. On just Monday alone, a NY agency brought in 29 staff referrals from Caribou—in one day! That’s enough capacity to service nearly 45 clients! This is one of many benefits that come with being an employer whom caregivers genuinely recommend to friends. Simply put, recognition is one of the best ways to drive operational efficiency by improving retention, recruitment, engagement, and performance. It’s a virtuous cycle that benefits caregivers, clients, and agencies. It’s not only the right thing to do for your caregivers; it’s the right thing to do for your business. More on this cycle in the video below 🦌 #homecare #caregivers #homecareoperations #retention #recognition #seniorcare

Violence against nurses and other healthcare workers is a troubling reality in #healthcare. Recent studies have found that roughly 40% of healthcare professionals have experienced physical altercations while on the job. Many tools can assist with increasing #safety in healthcare settings, including enhancing #RTLS alert systems, increasing communication methods between team members, and integrating alarm systems on-site. Tech is an important partner for medical staff. The faster reports can be made, the easier it is to get help and deter escalations.
