"Bad actors are using AI-generated voices in unsolicited robocalls to extort vulnerable family members, imitate celebrities, and misinform voters. We're putting the fraudsters behind these robocalls on notice," Rosenworcel said Thursday. "State attorneys general will now have new tools to crack down on these scams and ensure the public is protected from fraud and misinformation." These types of regulations will affect voice actors in the anime and gaming space who wish to protect their distinctive copyrighted voice, as a big concern of voice actors has been the reproduction of their voice by AI for purposes they did not consent to. Especially for deepfake usage.
