Embark on your ultimate Antarctic adventure, where the seventh continent beckons intrepid travelers to explore a frozen wilderness of unparalleled landscapes and wildlife. Planning such an extraordinary journey demands meticulous preparation, and this concise guide serves as your roadmap. Antarctica boasts a unique landscape adorned with snow-covered mountains, active volcanoes, glaciers, and icebergs, while penguins, seals, whales, and seabirds create a captivating wildlife spectacle. Experience up to 24 hours of sunlight during certain periods, engaging in thrilling activities like diving, kayaking, trekking, climbing, and exploration. Following in the footsteps of revered explorers, you'll carve your legacy in a pristine wilderness untouched by mass tourism. Timing is crucial for an Antarctic expedition, with the high season (Dec-Feb) offering the best weather conditions, while the low season (Apr-Oct) sees poor weather and no tours. Consider shoulder seasons (Oct, Nov, Mar) for a more intimate experience. Budgeting is essential, given the variety of tour options, and a significant investment is expected. The duration of your Antarctic tour depends on personal preferences, with mid-range tours lasting 12 days to two weeks, striking a balance between travel time, offshore activities, and exploration. Entry requirements include an Antarctic permit, and careful consideration of your transportation mode is vital. Top tour booking tips include departing from Ushuaia, the hub for 90% of Antarctic cruises, exploring alternative routes, verifying shore access, and opting for budget-friendly options. Pack essentials like sunblock, waterproof boots, thermal layers, and anti-nausea medication. Prioritize health and safety, staying hydrated, maintaining normal sleep patterns, and securing comprehensive travel insurance. Physical preparation aids in coping with the challenges of the journey. Travel tips suggest exploring the departure city, arriving early, adhering to weight restrictions, socializing with fellow travelers, dressing in layers, and considering vessel size for stability and access to remote locations. Partner with experienced tour operators for a transformative and unforgettable Antarctic experience, as this destination surpasses all others, offering breathtaking beauty and untouched grandeur. #antarctica #guidedtour #antarticatravel #travel #travelagent #travelgram #travelindustry #contentwriter #travelwriter

I love this story Heather Hansen O'Neill. Resilience is the key to survival (whether you are a sea turtle or a human). Resilience is like a 'muscle'; it can be developed and strengthened regardless of age. You are never too old to learn mindset shifts, practices, and skills to become what I call a Life Surfer. Coincidentally (Ha Ha), last week I found out that I needed to change the name of my online course small group mentoring program, Resilience Alchemy ~ The SURFERS Method. I am launching the course for the fourth time 9/12/2023. I needed to be adaptable and change the name of my course (not the teaching material, which is my unique method based on over 30 years of education and life experience). In my process of coming up with a new name for my course, I went to my SURFERS Method. I checked my mindset and reframed this obstacle. I then Surrendered Surveyed (S). I did not react. I did not make an impulsive decision. I created space between the new reality and my choice of response. This is our ultimate freedom as Homosapien Sapiens. I recalled the story of Viktor Frankl in A Man's Search for Meaning. I came up with a new acronym ACF (Awareness ~~ Choice ~~ Freedom). I also researched the Sanskrit term for resilience and learned that in Sanskrit, the word is Aatatishakti. Aatatishakti is a compound of two words (as many Sanskrit words are). Aatati = tension Shakti = the feminine aspect of divine power Put them together, and it = a tension that serves as power to bounce back using the divine feminine power of water and softness. How cool!! Look for the lessons and turn obstacles into opportunities.
What sea turtles have taught me about business and life... When I moved to SC, I happened upon a group of volunteers working with baby sea turtles and I thought, "What?! This happens here? I don't have to be in the Galapagos Islands to help sea turtles? I'm IN!" You see I've been obsessed with sea turtles since I was little. I watched this movie (can't recall the name now) about a young girl who somehow was able to swim under water with the sea turtles and I was hooked. And in all my travels I would include some snorkeling or diving adventure that mentioned the promise of a sea turtle sighting. There were quite a few lovely experiences. One in particular in Barbados where this one sea turtle and I bonded (he may not have felt the same but that happens sometimes in relationships). After sea turtle training and working with the amazing ranger at our local state park for the last couple years, I've been learning more and more about them. This picture is from the first inventory of a nest that had emerged several days ago. He had a hurt flipper and hadn't gotten out on his own. He's now on his way. Please note that the general public cannot work with sea turtles. You need to be trained and working under a permit from DNR (Department of Natural Resources). We work under permit #MTP510 directly with the ranger. Sea turtles are amazingly resilient and have taught me a few things I'd like to share with you. 🐢 FOLLOW THE LIGHT: Turtles know to follow the moon on the ocean as a guiding light when they hatch. While there may be darkness in the world, you can find (and be!) a positive force. 🐢 JUST KEEP GOING: No matter what adversity comes your way (whether it's sea gulls and ghost crabs or economic uncertainty and a challenging boss), keep moving forward toward your goal. 🐢 IT FEELS GOOD TO COME HOME: They don't always come to the exact beach but DNA research has shown that often times turtles will come back to the region where they were hatched. Whether home is your actual home/family or something/one that brings you comfort and elevates you, it's good to choose a strong support system. Sometimes nature intrinsically knows what we may at times struggle with, so when in doubt- be like the turtle. 🐢 ❤️ #seaturtles #leadership #goals

Journey through Drake Passage to the icy continent of Antarctica!! 🐬 If you are the adventurous type, a trip to Antarctica must have crossed your mind? 🕸 The icy continent is every adventure-lover’s dream destination! 🌼 The ways to reach Antarctica: by air and by sea. The air route takes just a few hours, but it is also the least preferred way. The sea route is the most popular way to reach Antarctica. Drake Passage is the utmost important aspect of the sea travel. 🚣♀️ It's a narrow body of water which is located between Cape Horn in South America and the South Shetland Islands in Antarctica. 🏄♀️ The passage connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean in easiest way. Don’t, for a second, think that since the sea route is the most popular route, it is all good. 🌿 Drake Passage is notorious for its treacherous waters. No wonder it is counted among the Earth’s most difficult waterways. The passage is approximately 1000 km wide and is no stranger to storms. As dangerous as it is, the Drake Passage is among the most photogenic places in the world. ✨ Major sailing expeditions and cruises venture into this challenging stretch of water for experiencing the raw beauty and awe-inspiring landscapes as well as wildlife of Antarctica. 🎉 Do follow Akriti Sharma !! The end of May can feel crazy for working parents and grandparents, so I want to share with you a quick mental escape with Glacier Bay, Alaska. Glacier Bay National Park is 3.3 million acres of gorgeousness in fijords, mountains, tidewater glaciers and marine wildlife in Southeast Alaska. 90% of visitors to Glacier Bay do so via cruiseship on an inside passage sailing. Did you know National Park rangers will board most ships to give presentations, and answer questions? There are a few different ways to enjoy this incredible landscape: 🛳 cruise ships like Princess Cruise Line, Holland America, Norwegian Cruise Line, Viking etc. ⛴ small ship cruises like American Cruise Lines, and others like National Geographic or Linblad Expeditions which have a little different experience. 🗻 land tours Glacier Bay, Alaska is a very special splace, and only a part of the incredible Alaskan experience. You could very easily spend months exploring; but most folks will only be able to do a week, or 2. This photo is from an American Cruise Line ship, overnighting in Glacier Bay with special permission. If this image was video, you would hear nothing but the serenity of the landscape, unspoiled by light pollution and the stillness of the beauty of the land. There are many different ways to see the incredible wonders Alaska has to offer, like Glacier Bay, and I have options to fit every level of adventure via traditional cruising, small ship cruising, individual land tours, expedition cruising, luxury guided tours, and small group guided adventures. Let's start a conversation about how you want to experience Alaska: momappovedtravel.com/quote
