Robyn was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease at just 18 years old. She had no idea how severe the illness was but she soon found out. Her symptoms started suddenly one day during her college class while she was studying for an NC Social Care Course. The pain made it impossible for her to sit comfortably, leading her to question what was happening. Since then, Robyn has undergone multiple surgeries and tried countless treatments to find the best one for her. Living with Crohn's is a rollercoaster, with both good and bad days. The bad days are particularly challenging mentally, causing her to worry about her future as an actress and model. Managing the unpredictability of her symptoms is especially hard when her job demands 12-hour days on film and photography sets. My wife continuing to destroy her multiple sclerosis diagnosis, squatting 200lbs for 2 reps and trap bar deadlifting 280lbs for 3 reps. She had more reps left in the tank on the deadlift (possibly as many as 3 more reps), but we're going to be at this rep range again in December, so today's workout was more of a preview. She should set some personal records the next time around. . So many people diagnosed with medical conditions avoid heavier weights, when it's actually the heavier weights (as part of an appropriately designed, progressive program) that the body needs to truly combat, control, and reverse the condition. . The guidelines to perpetually "baby" people with medical conditions are not only a disservice to the person's long-term health and well-being, but those guidelines are, arguably, leading to malpractice.

We're putting the spotlight on the disease commonly known as the 'sneak thief of sight' by showing you an example of what it might look like for someone living with glaucoma. It's estimated that over 300,000 Australians have glaucoma, however 50% are unaware they have it due to it developing slowly and often without any symptoms. The Clarke Willmott Serious Injury and Medical Negligence Department specialises in handling claims involving #encephalitis. They take great pride in their ongoing support for Encephalitis International and the efforts to raise awareness about this condition. Recently, the team had an opportunity to sit down with Joanne, a former client, to share the story of her daughter Allana, who tragically lost her life due to a poor understanding of encephalitis. Joanne and her family hope that by sharing Allana's story, they can increase understanding and awareness of the disease, particularly the cognitive changes that may occur. Joanne had a conversation with Senior Associate James Edmondson, who had played a pivotal role in obtaining answers for her family after Allana's passing. Additionally, Joanne and her family have published a book featuring poems written by Allana, with all proceeds going to Encephalitis International.
